We booked a double room with a Mountain View weeks before arriving in Amed and the day of our arrival we got a message on Agoda saying they have no room for us. When we arrived they said they would put us in a room but it was a three bed dorm room instead of the one we booked as another guest had extended their stay despite us pre-booking. They said they will see if they check out the next day and if we can move into it. The next day they said they haven’t moved and offered no alternative or apology. On the third day they found a different double room but it was not the room with the view we booked; however, they offered to turn the air conditioning on if we stayed in the dorm room which they previously wouldn’t allow despite it saying on Agoda that air conditioning available in all rooms to save on cleaning. The WiFi also didn’t work in the dorm room nor our 4g. There was also a lot of construction work ongoing, causing noise all day starting very early.
The day of checkout they came to our room before the checkout time wanting to clean the room as we were packing up as they said the new guest had arrived. Never known a hotel to clean around the previous guest before they have left.
The pillows were also mouldy with black spots all over the pillow beneath the case, leaving a bad smell in the room.
The view from the rooftop is nice; however, would’ve been more enjoyable if we had the Mountain View balcony we booked rather than a room with no windows. Moreover, the restaurant menu had very different prices to that advertised on Agoda since it had increased but the photos...
Read moreOne of the worst experiences (the worst was in Nirmala hotel Jimbaran - run for your life). The room looked like it was not cleaned for months: dust all around, poops of bugs, and bugs themselves, hair, traces of dirt, dirty toilet, lock in the room door was broken and I stuck, the staff is not trained at all, they didn’t know about my booking and asked me to show the booking obviously not seeing it in the system. They didn’t know which room I booked and gave me another one. I booked standard twin room but I was given obviously single room, small one, without any shelf and no balcony, overlooking the rice paddy. So no shelf, I didn’t know where to put my stuff. And hang clothes on the chair. It’s regular Balinese scam - to put online a good room with a claim that’s it’s the last one and then give basic rooms to the customers. They don’t get that the best marketing and turnover are increased by honesty and good customer experience. So I lost money. Not a huge amount, but still it’s my honestly earned money which they didn’t have a right to steal. And didn’t have decency to provide relevant experience. Rooms are nice, Great location. Especially if you get a room overlooking the rice fields. Nice breeze.
"Room Cleaning" included sweeping the floor, no new linens or towels were given. My bed was made with the old sheets...NO new sheets! 😪 My pre-used towels were rolled up and placed on my bed. 😪
When I went to check out, the lady owner demanded I pay more than what had been agreed upon (by 3 text messages). After refusing, she finally relented. Made for a very uncomfortable last 24 hours.
Took the van to another city. Traffic was bad so we were dropped off on the main road. The person before me was given money for a Gojek or scooter to reach his final destination. I was dropped off 5 km away from my destination. No money was provided to pay for the Grab I had to take to reach my hotel.
