A terrifying experience I wouldn't wish on anyone.
We chose this restaurant for its charming setting, drawn in by the lovely decor and the inviting pool. What should have been a pleasant meal quickly turned into an absolute nightmare.
The red flags were there from the start. When we asked for bottled water, we were served table water with visible mold and algae on the neck of the bottle—absolutely revolting. In hindsight, we should have left immediately, but the place looked so nice that we decided to give it a chance.
The service and food preparation were, at best, questionable. We watched in disbelief as the staff pulled fish out of a greasy fridge with their bare hands, without any plastic wrap or protective layers. Everything we ordered was reheated in a microwave, which we heard beep at least five or six times.
We managed to eat about 30% of our meal before stopping altogether, as the state of the food made us too uneasy. Little did we know, the worst was yet to come.
About 15–20 minutes after leaving the restaurant, I began experiencing alarming symptoms: tingling sensations in my hands, a loss of hot and cold sensation throughout my body, a rapid and pounding heartbeat, and intense heat in my neck and ears. Soon after, I noticed red and white welts appearing on my thighs, arms, and even my stomach, which had turned bright red with patches of white.
Panicked, I turned to my mother, who confirmed that my neck and ears were turning purple. Thankfully, we had just arrived in front of a clinic/pharmacy. They gave me an antihistamine pill that worked quickly, but I dread to think what could have happened if my throat had swollen or my breathing had been affected.
This restaurant, despite its outward charm, is a serious health hazard. From the blatant lack of hygiene to the questionable cooking practices and the poor quality of the food, it’s an experience I wouldn’t wish on anyone. If you value your health, do yourself a favor and stay far away...
Read moreTitle: Nice ambience, Pizza is ok, tasty dessert
Smiling staff Price, quality, quantity performance is good Nice ambience Clean rest rooms They serve a little complimentery. It was 2 slice of tasty bread. You can dip it on olive oil and other sauce
-On the table the standart water glass bottle the plastic closure inside was dirty.
o I had the Pizza Margherita with some extra toppings. The pizza was big maybe like 30 cm diameter. The extra mushrooms had a good quantity but the extra onion was less. The pizza bread was ok. I guess it's not easy in Bali to get the special ingredients like flour, oil etc. to bake a genuine Italian pizza. For this it was all ok. The tomatoe sauce was also only ok. Overall I mist a little basil taste.
o I had also the dessert "Hot Lava Cake" and it was really delicious. It's like a hot brownie with fluid chocolate inside, on top is a vanilla ice ball. Of course it was less because you want more and more :-)
o I ordered an ice tea. They make it fresh was the statement. Unfortunately they put already sugar inside. A lot of restaurants and small Cafes in Bali serve fluit sugar extra, so that the guest can choose to use sugar or not.
o The restaurant is in the resort. Go to the main door after passing it's directly on the right side

Read moreThere are two Italian styled restaurants in the Amed area providing a similar experience and menu. This is one of them and compared to the other it utterly fails. Having eaten at both this week, and coming off the great food of the northern restaurant, I had high hopes. However, La Bottega did not do well. All the food we had lacked flavour. The pasta carbonara was very bland and needed a good deal of salt and pepper applied at table (I haven't salted a prepared dish in years!). The noodles were not homemade as purported and as they are at the competition. The capricciosa pizza was also not very flavourful (lack of seasoning), given the ingredients, and it was soggy to raw from the middle of the slices to the center. The wedges we had were unique in their heavy bread crumb/fish stick style coating, but not tasty as the potatoes tasted like processed frozen rather than whole fresh potatoes. The only pleasant items were the fresh pineapple juice and side salad. But they are not enough to go for given the two excellent juice bar restaurants just down the street. The service was pleasant but a bit erratic and the strident bell ringing from the kitchen counter felt like being in a truck stop diner rather than a nice restaurant. And for the quality and taste the value was not there....we paid 400+k for the items mentioned plus 1 large Bali Hai beer...that's 30+$ which is very expensive for Bali...compared to a bit less for an EXCELLENT meal at Gusto in north Amed. I am sad to say that cannot recommend this restaurant...
