ROCKHILLS BATU — Restaurant in Kota Batu

TERRIBLE SERVICE! NO ACTIVE WAITER/ESS. When i arrived there, no waiter/ess welcomed me and asked me if i need a table for how many person like a real 4 star+ cafe/bistro/resto usually does even though there were 3-4 waiter/ess who were doing nothing! They just stood up & chit-chat each other near the bar counter.

So we found a table ourselves, none offered me n my family menu book. I asked to the free-&-do-nothing waitress for menu book, she said i could just scan it from QR Code on the table. So i did.

And guess what?? THERE WERE ONLY SO FEW MENU IN THE LINK! THERE WASNT EVEN ANY COFFEE! So i stood up n walked again to the bar counter asking why theres no coffee in the online menu, And why they call themselves as ROCKHILLS CAFE & BISTRO if they have no coffee???? After talking for some time then finally they handed me the menu book. And we found out that the menu in the link was just 1/3 of the real menu on the book.

To order, you must stand up in the cashier line n order things yourself and directly pay. And the line was sooo long n i thought: IS THIS REALLY A 4 STARPLUS CAFE IN BATU?!!

Lucky they have good place. Taste of the food n drinks is pretty good also. And even tho the portion of the food isnt so big, the price...

A bit pricey cafe for Batu; if its Surabaya, then it's another story. Foods starts from 40K while drinks start from 30K something. The food was okay. The drink selection was quite variative. The cookies and cakes were overprice; 10K for a small slice. I have to say the place was cute with Santorini kinda vibe. Lots of instagrammable corners. One downside though, the cafe plays music too loud even if its noon. Asked waiters to tune it down a bit, but it took forever and had to tell them twice. Another thing on the waiter though. Asked if we can sit on the area near the pool. They said it's okay as long as our minimum purchase is 300K. We agreed. But then when we wanna sit down, another waiter just came along to put "reserved" sign on vacant sits. So we couldnt sit. Well, if they dont want us to sit on that area, why dont they just go ahead and said so. Dont say one thing and do another thing. Noticed few waiters...

Hype cafe/restaurant is always a hit and miss.

We're coming without reservation so learned from that if you're coming here to avoid table moving in the middle of ordering/eating.

The food is pretty decent but the coffee is just bad, too watery and too sweet even tho I ordered non sugar coffee.

Service time is very confusing because some food arrives so fast but others come so far behind that some food is already gone before the next food comes to our table.

If you're coming in the rainy season, beware of limited seating option. Most of the seating is either outdoor, or outdoor without a proper roof. Seriously, you're located in a city that almost always rains. The mostly indoor seating is a very bad decision in...
