I hate to leave such a poor review but everything about our lunch was just mediocre to awful. First off, not many Mediterranean options for a Mediterranean restaurant. Then they had a chicken panini on special but for same price as on the menu (weird.) I was just really rice and noodles overloaded at this point of our trip so I ordered it along with the mie goring Jawa noodles for my partner and a Vietnamese rice rolls to start. It took about an hour to get our food. And the food came all at once. The panini had thick slices of cheese that weren’t melted, wilted lettuce, minimal chicken and some roasted vegetables. After eating one half I asked to get the second re-toasted to melt the cheese which took another 15-20 minutes. I asked to sign off for the bill and the server took another 15 minutes putting everything into the system (super old school system.) I told the server that the chicken panini really wasn’t great and she answered with “thank you.” Obviously I understand there’s a language barrier but I felt like maybe she thought I said, “it was great” so I changed my wording and said it was bad, tasted bad because I thought she can pass the message to the chef but maybe she still didn’t understand because she just laughed. Also, they don’t offer ice water, you have to buy by the bottle. Just a disappointing experience with such a nice hotel. Wayyyyy better options and way cheaper just 2-5 minute walk away. We payed $66 Australian dollars for our...
Read moreCocos restaurant at Novotel Bali Benoa offers a delightful poolside and beachside dining experience that leaves a lasting impression. The freshness and quality of their offerings shine through, particularly with their refreshing fruit juices that are expertly prepared and thoroughly enjoyable. If you find yourself in Benoa, don't miss the chance to dine at Cocos – it's a must-visit spot that beautifully captures the essence of a beachside culinary adventure, leaving you with a sense of relaxation and...
Read moreCocos Bar at the Novotel offers a mixed experience. The food is decent overall, and the standout item is the rendang pizza—an unexpectedly tasty fusion that’s definitely worth a try.
Unfortunately, the experience falls short when it comes to drinks and service. Cocktails are subpar, lacking in flavor and alcohol (seems they try to save on this). The bar staff come across as unfriendly and unwelcoming. Asking about the happy hour menu is met with confusion or even disdain, which detracts significantly from the atmosphere you’d expect in a hotel bar setting.
In short: come for a bite, especially the rendang pizza, but don’t set your expectations too high when it comes to service...
