Not a great experience. Gave the host an opportunity to make it right to which she responded back with defensiveness and was quite rude and disrespectful. It's also worth noting that this is maybe only the 2nd or 3rd time I have EVER left a bad review. That should say something in itself.
Let's start with the Pros:
Beautiful room. Very clean. Great breakfast (but eggs were over cooked) Super comfortable pillows and sheets (bed has issues though. See below)
Now for the Cons:
Our room was on the second floor, which we were told had a nice ocean view. Reality is, you can see the ocean but it's hardly an ocean view. From the second floor there is a nice view of the roof, but the "ocean view" is really just a peak of the ocean. Very disappointing. Wish they would have been honest and said "not much of an ocean view" from the second floor.
The jacuzzi bathtub is completely exposed to the entire complex next door? A romantic jacuzzi experience? Sure, as long as you don't mind being watched from every angle. There was a woman smoking on the balcony next door who watched us take our romantic bath. Not cool. The jacuzzi drain was broken as well, so the only way we could use the tub was by jamming a plastic bag down the drown to stop the water from draining too quickly. This was a huge disappointment as the view and the jacuzzi were the two main reasons we chose the room in the first place.
A few other constructive pieces of criticism that are easily fixable:
Super challenging to find and the reception made us wait 20 minutes on the road before being able to guide us to the complex. Make the directions easier to follow on airbnb. We requested cold water be brought to the room, but they said they didn't have any, to just put our warm water in the fridge, but the fridge doesn't stay cold. Asked for restaurant recommendations in the area but the staff didn't know of any. Train the staff to have these on hand so when guests ask, they can at least provide a few local recommendations. The very large oversize bed is actually just two twin size beds pushed up against each other and wrapped in one big sheet. Try laying in the middle of that....not super comfortable. Breakfast was served late and the coffee was cold. No robes in the room. For the price, the room should have this standard. Super loud music and noises in the morning made it hard to sleep in. Asked the host if we could have in-room massage. She told me to ask the front desk. Not the best customer service.
All in all for the price, I wouldn't come back here. Beautiful hotel,...
Read moreWe had a mixed stay at Benoa Sea Suites and Villas. While there were some positive aspects, unfortunately, several issues impacted our overall experience.
Pros: The staff was kind and helpful, doing their best to assist us despite the hotel’s shortcomings. They even lent us a phone with a SIM card so we could access the internet via hotspot, which was greatly appreciated. The daily free tea time in the afternoon was a nice touch. The nearby 24/7 grocery stores are very convenient. The outdoor communal pool is enjoyable and well-maintained. The room’s air conditioning and shower worked perfectly and were very comfortable.
Cons: The wooden pool deck gets extremely hot under the sun, making it painful to walk on barefoot. Loud construction noise throughout the day really disturbed the peace and quiet we expected. The beach right in front of the hotel is unfortunately very dirty, filled with litter, while the neighboring hotel beaches are clean. It seems like proper maintenance isn’t being done. A loose plank on the edge of the pool poses a real safety hazard—we tripped over it several times. The private pool in our room was not exposed to the sun, felt gloomy with a view of a wall, and was not very clean. Wi-Fi is essentially nonexistent. We couldn’t connect at all.
This hotel has potential, but some maintenance, cleanliness, and noise issues need to be addressed to make it a truly...
Read moreBooked a one-bedroom villa with pool. Very disappointed something being built at front of the hotel so not very appealing entry. Staff were very welcoming on arrival with a cool drink. When shown our villa. Well basically it's a room with a settee a large bed a sort of a desk. The bathroom is open to the room. The toilet and shower are glassed in. The glass door of the toilet opens inward so not a lot of room to get in. The plunge pool is ok but loads of leaves in it. There is an outside tiny area that has an old wooden table and chairs and a fridge and a kettle 2 cups and saucers and 1 teaspoon. Bed was comfortable and plenty of hot water although the adjustable shower was broken, the rain shower worked ok. The main pool area was having some paving repairs so not as many sun loungers available. Breakfast was ok coffee was awful balanese which I love was so gritty and bitter I think it was the bottom of the pot dregs. Well we decided one night was enough and booked into somewhere else. They asked me to fill out a form to say why we were not staying for the manager which I did. So disappointed we had stayed there before in one of the suites before COVID and it was good. They've let the place run...
