We were really looking forward to dining at SIA Japanese, conveniently located near our hotel in Nusa Dua, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations.
Several menu items were unavailable — no karaage chicken, no ginger, and no udon. Their cocktail special was advertised on every table and on signage outside as running until 7pm, but when I tried to order it at 6:15pm, I was told the special had been changed to finish at 5pm — yet no updated signage had been made. Similarly, they promote Teppanyaki nights on Wednesdays, but when we went on a Wednesday, we were told it wasn’t on.
The service was mixed. The waitress was polite and responsive, but there was a language barrier at times, which made ordering a little difficult. Most of our food came out promptly, except for the torch salmon, which never arrived — after waiting over an hour, we cancelled it.
As for the meal itself, it was underwhelming. We ordered sashimi (which I asked to be cooked as it didn’t taste fresh), a chicken roll, three dim sims, two tofu dishes (both of which lacked flavor), a ramen for the kids, and two waters. The total came to $140 AUD, and we left still hungry.
Overall, we were really disappointed and won’t be returning. It may have just been an off night, but for the price and location, we...
Read moreWas quiet when we go there. Just a few patrons. Was promptly seated. Then waited about 15 mins... waiters just hung around the inside of the area adjacent to the outside section. Had to get their attention to order drinks after the wait. It was the same for food ordering. Waited another 10- 15 mins. Then had to get their attention again. Once food was ordered. Waited almost 45 - 60 mins for some food to arrive. Prawn tempura, another prawn dish (Bisque) and dimsum was good. Tofu skin prawn was terrible. So for our visit, had very poor service. Once you got the attention of the service staff, they were cordial and friendly. There was zero effort coming over to check on us though.... even ordering another drink took the same effort. If more effort/training is provided to service staff, i think the experience would have been better. Updated my rating and review above after dining at more establishments...
Read moreMy husband and myself stopped by for refreshing cool drinks after a long walk exploring Nusa Dua. Recommend. Service staff greet you with a refreshing cool wet face towel to freshen up whilst you are seated - great for the humid weather in Bali. Although we didn't order any food with the vouchers provided, we highly recommend. Drinks we ordered were very refreshing. Lovely owner, Shinnosuke made us feel so welcome 🙏 & Maria the General Manager is lovely she stopped us whilst we were walking to welcome us inside with a couple of vouchers. Thanks Maria ! If you love Japanese cuisine this is the place to try as they've just opened up recently. Not far from the Grand Mirrage and Novotel in Nusa Dua if walking or driving. Has a few parking spots on...
