Yesterday was the last straw, I’m done with this place. ☹️
I understand this is Asia and some local restos let nails, hair and plastic get into foods, as well as letting pieces of chicken and insects like centipedes get into vegan dishes… But bruh, when the whole soup tastes like a neighbors’ burning trash, with a deep undertone of smoked plastik 🤌🍷
I’ve eaten around 30-40 green curries within 7 months in there and I suppose that’s enough to judge. Those were really cheap and tasty, but still, such quality is ridiculously inappropriate and dangerous.
P.S Once I had a food poisoning probably after your Tom Yum. Since then I’ve stopped eating seafood, thanks for helping come back to veggie nutrition 🌱 If you ever decide to improve your food quality, change the beer snacks sauces — they doesn’t fit at all and spoil all the snacks taste. Read moreUbay Warung is more than just a place to eat—it’s a whole vibe. While they offer incredible traditional Indonesian dishes, the menu goes way beyond that: think fresh salads, flavorful skewers (like marlin and mahi-mahi!), rich curries, pastas, burgers, Vietnamese pho bo, and more. It’s a global feast in one spot.
We tried the calamari rings, nasi goreng, dumplings, and skewers—and every bite was delicious. The portions were generous, the prices super affordable, and the quality absolutely exceeded expectations. We paid 178k for ALL this food!!
What really makes Ubay Warung special is the energy. Mr. Ubay, the owner, treats everyone like family. His warmth and hospitality create an atmosphere that’s hard to find—locals and foreign locals mingle like old friends. There’s music playing, people joking around, hugs and handshakes for the regulars… it’s just one of those places where you instantly feel at home.
A gem for great food and even greater vibes....
Read moreUbay is simply fantastic - the staff there have fun, serve up the best Indonesian food we've had - both flavourful and doesn't leave you feeling heavy - and we automatically went to them the following day for dinner again.
Look out for the chilli logo and stop by because this is a highly recommended spot from me and my Aussie friends - we spent a week in the area and we cleared and cleaned our plates every time we came.
I highly recommend the chicken cap cay and laksa and my friends loved the Tom Kha Gai. If you're an unsure Aussie who's wanting to try local food - this is your perfect spot.
Not to mention - for a group of 8, it was $50AUD in total at the end. Money way beyond well worth spent. That was about 500IDR in their currency -...
