Went for adult session with great enthusiasm, left with mixed feelings. Staff: 10/10. Make-up: 10/10. Decoration: 10/10. IV cocktails for two: 10/10 presentation but definitely lacking alcohol, more like juice, and definitely not for 2, and for that they drop to 5/10. Dance show: 10/10. Band in between the dance: they are talented but their only target seems to be 65+ year old australians so as a younger couple from different part of the planet we give 2/10. Crowd: 65+ year old australians. I suspect many of them were forcefully brought there somehow because that's the only explanation I can come up with for their facial expressions and attitude for the entire 3 hours we have been there. Value for price: Low, considering we ended up paying around 700k for 2 people and left hungry and not even tiny bit tipsy. For half of that price, any other place we went to in Bali, we left either extremely full or drunk as hell or both, and the other establishments also brought something complimentary. In the end, while we would have loved to watch the 22:30 session of the dance show, we couldn't take the band playing ancient music at maximum volume and we left.

I wouldn't recommend this place for families with young children. It's alright for older kids who can get a laugh out of seeing people walking around with blood, lesions and wounds painted on their faces. I decided to leave after ordering dinner but before it was brought to our table due to the blank, confused and somewhat concerned look my 3.5 year old had on her face after looking at the pictures in the brochure of artwork face paint designs available for patrons. We decided to visit this place when we were informed that the earlier session was suited for young children with a lion king and frozen theme, however we were seated away from the show so it still felt as though we were in Frankenstein's laboratory crossed with an emergency amputation section of a hospital. I was looking forward to getting my cocktail which was described as a DIY mix which came in a syringe and test tubes as I could see the humour in it, however I'm glad we didn't wait around for it as the questions my kids might have asked about it would've striked up a conversation I am not prepared to have with my young ones just yet.

What a FANTASTIC experience! We randomly popped in here looking for somewhere to eat and drink. No food was had, but much drinking was done for sure and during that time, we had an awesome time! If you want something out of the box, unique and fun, come here! Absolutely brilliant entertainment! Between the live band sets - The Monster Band (also known as Harmonizer with a different female vocalist) they had fabulously creative and really fun cabaret shows with rather cute choreography to songs such as Thriller etc. Really fun post-apocalyptic shows that get you up and dancing or involved in some way or other. Oh and they had two excellent fire dancers! So impressive! Their outfits (the cabaret dances, bar staff and the servers) are fab and so fitting for this bar. Really fun! In the background behind the bar they have the old black and white film, Frankenstein, playing. The venue itself is very cool and original, with a steampunk decor. Honestly everything about this place was awesome!

We had been told by my wifes brother who was travelling with us and his son that he had heard it was a good place to go, we later found out he had taken this information from a facebook site he had been following called Armadale bogans or something of that nature.

For our family it was a little to graphic. We probably didn't research the place enough before we went to see if it was acceptable for younger children. I think if you have girls, younger girls it can also be a little worse also. We have 4 girls aged 4 to 8 and we haven't exposed them to the death side of things or the blood and monster looking pictures that are on display on the menu and all around the place.

Certainly for families who have older children I would say at least 13 years of age and above it would be a different experience for them.

We went because the place advertised face painting and a Walt Disney Lion King theme. They probably shouldn't have promoted that sort of theme as it gets families who have kids that age who relate to that theme thinking it would be a place to visit.

We sat down at a table for about 5 mins looked around and was a little disturbed by what we had decided to take our kids too. I then saw my 4 year who had picked up the menu eye balling the graphic pictures which accompanied the food and saw a slightly bewildered and confused look on her face. I immediately took the menu from her to have a look at what she was seeing as I hadn't seen the menu at this stage. I then took a look, i got the attention of my wife who was on the same page as I was and I showed her the menu. I then said let's get out of here in sure we can find another venue to eat at, my wife agreed and we hurried ourselves out of there straight away, much to the confusion of the waitress who was about to come over to ask us what we wanted to eat.

So in summary I would have second thoughts if your children have not been subjected to that sort of genre, horror and death etc and or if you have young children under 12 years of age and especially...

Frankensteins is an amateurish, old-school theme restaurant. The entire evening is cleverly constructed to have you 'trapped' inside their walls & have to buy your pre-dinner drinks; then your meal; then your follow up drinks; and additionally pay something to be face-painted to join in the 'horror' theme. The best money spent was on the horror make-up. However, being told we need to book for 7pm; then get sat in a 'holding room' with ridiculously uncomfortable stools to sit on; wait nearly 2 hours before the 'show' starts.... hence having no choice but to drink from their bar... was not exactly enjoyable. Meals are ordered then to be brought out later when we are seated in next room for the show. Eventually, we are all ushered into the theme room. A very tacky & amateur show follows; exceptionally loud live average band plays; followed by more average mimed theatrics.... then the loud band again. We saw heaps of live performers over 3 weeks in Bali - unfortunately this band couldn't hold a tune. Our meals weren't too bad, but not reaching the exceptional standards of most restaurants in Seminyak. Overall Frankensteins is not something we'd recommend. The best fun was the walk home a few blocks wearing our ghoulish make-up. Lots of laughs & shocked reactions from people on the street. The staff, as always in Bali, were lovely & we don't take away from the benefits of them being in regular employment. I reckon the owner ('ringmaster' we assume) rakes in millions while his staff are paid very...

My night at Frankenstein's Laboratory was horrible from start to finish. The staff have the worst communication skills possible. We walked in through the Frankstein shop, where the disinterested employee proceeded to tell us that we were in the wrong area, and then told us it was next door and continued playing on her phone, without directing us to the correct area. When we got into the bar we ordered an IV cocktail bag that tasted like bag of syrup. Our second round of shots took 30 minutes and several reminders to arrive. Over an hour passes and our food still hasn't arrived. We are then told that this will be served during the show. Would have been nice to know that when we ordered the food. Meanwhile, we have signed up for face painting. A lady takes our name and tells us to wait until there is an availability. We don't see her again so we ask another staff member when we can have our face painted. He apologises and indicates that he will write down our names and take us over in a moment. We never see him again. By this stage my partner and I are getting increasingly frustrated, so we complain. Another lady comes over and demands to know our hotel name and room number and cannot come up with an explanation as to why she needs this information. The manager then comes over and does her best to infuriate my partner. The only horrifying aspect of this establishment is the cocktails and service! Avoid...
