Kaldera Bistro and Bar, Seminyak-Bali — Restaurant in Kuta

Wasn't sure how I felt here , the food in parts was very good , some of service was too... Ordered the chicken wings x 2 for entree , a serve of french fries and rolled chicken for mains. Well the rolled chicken came out first , it was in a batter concoction with fresh veges and a dark pepper sauce...it was quite nice but the sauce would have better with a steak. The chicken wings were delicious with a real tangy sauce with a bit of heat. Service was a mixed bag , I watched our drink order sit on the bar for 5 minutes waiting for a staff member to bring it to our table , some staff members seemed to be working harder than others to be honest. Not usually one to write a review but this was a really poor evening. Food was served cold, ribs were still fridge temperature in the middle and had to be returned to kitchen. The chicken was chewy and grissly. As a table of 9, half of us left our mains with two mains only one mouthful taken. Some of the party left the table feeling extremely put off food. Food appearence, flavour and consistency was very questionable. Serving staff were apologetic, but that does not rectify multiple inadequate meals. No offering of excluding the meals of poor standard off the bill, instead offered us to join them for breakfast and to use them for day trips - but of course for us to pay for, but unfortunately we would not give another penny to this place so declined...

A Hidden Gem in Seminyak

I had the best Vietnamese salad here. The Nước chấm sauce was sweet, tangy, fragrant and just the right amount of spiciness. If you are looking for authentic Vietnamese taste, this is where you should go! The price is very reasonable for Seminyak area. Had the spaghetti seafood and it was amazing as well! Loved it!

I made this review after I went to bo&bun last night and was ordering the same Vietnamese salad, so I have a comparison between these two. I highly recommend Kaldera, they are way better than bo&bun in terms of taste, freshness and price wise.

I will definitely go back to Kaldera! The best Vietnamese/Asian fusion restaurant...
