This is my first time trying the dishes after hearing other people's reviews. First, about the place. It is located in a small street with limited parking space for a car, so I would suggest you use a taxi or motorcycle to get here; the ambiance is lovely, and it has an ethnic, traditional, or vintage look to it. Although it looks small in front of the place, it goes all the way to the back, with seating, you can choose to eat at the table or lesehan. The system they use to list the guests is quite good; if the place is crowded, they will ask for your name as a way of queueing and give you the order list you can choose and check. After your table is ready, they will call out your name, and you can proceed to pay your order and be sitted. Last one for the food quality, It doesn't take long for your food to be delivered to your table. They have lots of sambal combinations of food you can choose from, so yesterday, we decided on the cakalang set and the lung set; also, for side orders, we checked out banana fritter and dadar jagung. The dadar jagung size is so big, the primary taste is salty, the banana fritter has a sesame taste, and maybe because the cooking oil has been used so many times, it has a terrible used oil taste. The sambal set feels almost the same for me; whether it's the cakalang or the lungs, it tastes the same because all I can taste is just the saltiness and the hotness of the sambal. So I cannot find anything special there, it is a nice experience but not something I...
Read moreI'm going to review a place to eat that is always crowded in the city of Malang. Sego sambel Cak Uut is a very famous place to eat in Malang City. By providing various choices of chili sauce, this place is never empty of visitors. The atmosphere is very cool because there are bamboo trees and has a typical village atmosphere. When eating, it is accompanied by the sound of gurgling water and typical village music. Sego sambel cak uut have many menu variations ranging from chili sauce, side dishes, drinks and snacks. The portions for food are very large and affordable with prices between 30k-50k. worth it for that price with fast service and a clean place. Apart from that, every corner is given a very interesting decoration and seems like ancient times. But if you are going to go to Sego Sambal Cak Uut, you can make a reservation in advance so you don't have to wait too long. The drawback of this cak uut sego sambel is the limited parking space for cars because it is in a residential area of residents. But I recommend this place for you spicy lovers. And if you go to Malang, you have to stop by at Sego Sambal Cak Uut because people say "you haven't been to Malang if you haven't eaten at Sego...
Read moreYou definitely have to try this place if you love spicy food. All the menu that we order are delightful. From tender krengsengan daging and cumi hitam to delightful cakalang after you squeeze the lime on it. We also interested with botok telur asin, but personally it's not salty and "masir" enough. For each dish, they will pair it with different sambal that will compliment better.
There is 2 downside of this place: it located right in the middle of urban area with narrow road, so it will be difficult if you bring a car Sometimes the waiting-list can be pretty long and the dine-in table is limited, so be patience or just came before peak lunch time
They also have a small stall at the front area (waiting area) which selling vegetable or gorengan, also a frozen packaging for some of their dish which is pretty good...
