mcb Homestay — Hotel in Malang

The place provides best services in the front office, warm smiles from the staff start your days of staying in a good way. The areas are clean and the ambience improve your vacation mood. On the second floor they have mini snack bar with coffee and tea on the ready. It is a homestay but the feel you get is comparable to a nice hotel. On the second floor there is a terrace of open air where you can smoke and enjoy the vibe of Malang city's air. The standart room is clean, not as big as a hotel room but still give you enough space to enjoy. They have a flat-screen TV, air-condition, and a cupboard with enough space for small family in the room. The bathroom is quite small but with separated area between the shower area and the wash area that still comfortable enough to use. It is forbidden, though, to smoke in the room. Inside the room there are some condiments of tea and coffee too with a kettle in case you have your own preferences of your beverages. The location is strategic; placed near to many important spots such as Ijen street, Kawi street, Cyber Mall, Malang City Point, Loka Supermarket, Aurora movie theatre, Dieng movie theatre, SuperIndo supermarket, Elizabeth store, Saboten Japanese Restaurant, and many others, not to mention the culinary spots you can find easily near it. Bear in mind, the traffic in front of the homestay may become really busy during the weekends so pay attention to this factor if you are mobile at the weekend...

As we booked the room from online app, they did not inform us about major renovation on the venue. we stayed 21-22 Oct 2017.||Check-in process was pretty fast, but when they assisted us to the room, in the 1st floor (as we requested 3 beds in the room), the hallway to the room was so dirty and messy with dust everywhere, even the workers were working in front of our room (in the narrow hallways).||Room was so spacious, however all are dirty and dusty, we even need to wear our sandals inside the room, and we suspected the bed were so dusty as well.||Shower room was spacious, however main shower was broken and water pressure in the 2nd shower was so low causing hot water was not so stable.||There was no staffs around the hotel, only in the reception area and they seems don't understand anything, but still polite, like when we asked some plastic bag, they don't have it.||We just stay 1 night, if we booked more than 1 night, we might need to ask full refund of it.||||If we knew that they were in major renovation, we might consider to stay in this homestay with those normal price as we can get much better homestay/hotel with those price, it's not worth it at all. Stayed with Malang city boulevard from 14-16 Apr. Would say my experience exceeded the price paid and would stay with them again. My room and common area are clean and bed was comfortable. Location is walking distance to Malang City Point Mall. Flat screen television, open space wardrobe, table/chair and good space to move around the room. Shower room needs a bit of maintenance but serves its function. There were free flow of tea, water, coffee, chocolate waffles and some spicy corn snack. Staff were great and very helpful.
