I recently dined at Nick's Place in Nusa Lembongan, and my experience was a classic case of style over substance. I chose to dine here primarily because of the free transport and the high ratings it had received. Unfortunately, this turned out to be misleading and deeply disappointing.
The grilled lobster, which I had hoped would be the highlight of my meal, was soggy, lacking freshness, and definitely not worth the price or the hype. It was a major letdown. The Cajun shrimp was no better—an oily mess that left me regretting my choice. Nick’s onion loaf? I honestly couldn’t even tell what it was meant to be. And the half rack? Below average at best. I’ve had far better meals at local streetside warungs that cost less.
Cleanliness was another issue. The restaurant had a huge number of flies buzzing around, which made the dining experience unpleasant. And to top it off, I’m still dealing with stomach issues and the runs days later—definitely a sign that the food quality or hygiene was not up to standard.
The cocktails were equally disappointing. They're definitely not worth it, and I’d recommend skipping them altogether if you decide to dine here.
When the staff asked how the food was, I told them it was just average. They seemed dumbfounded, and one even called over a colleague to ask me what the problem was. It felt strange, as if they were completely unaware of the food quality.
It's a shame to see a place so overrated, especially when there are better dining options around. Skip Nick's Place and head to a...

Read moreHyped. Food was good, I enjoyed it and it was certainly not bad. Ingredients where fresh and the sauces tasted good. I got the half rack of ribs, and my wife the fish of the day. The service was highly unorganized, don't get me wrong, the people who served us and who work there smiled, where nice people and where doing there best, but it was very poor in terms of efficiency. Usually I would give a pass but not this time. My wife and I where the first to enter the restaurant at about 6pm, we where the first people to order. Starters came out and drinks in the usual fashion, however when it came to main courses, my wife's came out and mine did not. My wife had actually finished her main by the time the waitress came out with a colleague and asked if I had received my food, to which I replied no. Then my food quickly followed, likely they had given my rack of ribs to another customer who ordered after me, no biggy but it was a good 30 mins after my wife was served her main. For this they get 3 stars, maybe in the high season they employ more staff and this would not happen....
