Beautiful breakfast spot. Dining right by the ocean shoreline.
Interior and Design: There are two sections to this place. In the front area, there is a Café Bakery that is only indoors (and is nicely air-conditioned) and much smaller and cozier. Moving forward from there, you will reach the restaurant section where you will be greeted with a beautiful view of the bright blue ocean. The design features an open airflow layout, ensuring that no matter where you sit, you will always have a view. There are many potted plants scattered around, giving a nice organic vibe. There are also plenty of different types of seating options: square tables, round tables, sunbeds, low chairs, high chairs, etc.
Food & Drinks: The menu does contain pork, so depending on religious or personal preference, be aware. In their Bread section, I ordered a pretzel, and it was absolutely delicious. The right amount of saltiness and chewiness. They have a variety of breads and pastries that you can browse through, with one of the options being sourdough. I had a slight disappointment with the drinks, specifically the cappuccino. They added chocolate powder on top, which personally ruins the taste. I believe that when a person orders coffee, they want to taste coffee, not chocolate. So, unless the customer states otherwise, adding chocolate should be avoided. Other than that, the food and drinks are definitely worth trying. Another thing to note is that there is a shortage of avocado from Bali to Nusa Penida. So, if your dish contains avocado, you might not get the full recipe of that dish.
Service: The waiters and waitresses are really nice. They seem to remember their regular customers and try to greet them in their native language, which is quite cute. The waiters are more than happy to explain each dish and also give their personal favorites on the menu.
Price:They have the standard prices of Bali. The cappuccino was Rp37k, while the average price in Bali is usually Rp35k - Rp40k. All prices shown on the menu are before a 16% governmental and service fee charge. There are no entrance fees or minimum spend requirements. The prices are definitely worth it with the views they offer.
Conclusion: If you want to feel like you're eating in a paradise area, this place is...

🌟 3 THINGS I ENJOYED: 1️⃣ Scenic Ocean Views 🌋: The location offers breathtaking sights of the ocean and a distant volcano, making it perfect for unwinding. 2️⃣ Convenient Bakery 🥐: Having a bakery next door is a plus; the chocolate croissant was a pleasant (though not exceptional) addition. 3️⃣ Relaxing Atmosphere ☕: A quiet and peaceful setting, great for a slow morning start or as an evening hangout spot.
💬 PERSONAL EXPERIENCE: We found Secret Penida Restaurant & Bar on Google and decided to give it a try. The morning ambiance was tranquil, with only a few tourists enjoying breakfast. The standout for us was the chocolate croissant from the adjacent bakery—a nice treat, though fairly average in quality. Unfortunately, the ice cream and smoothies didn’t impress, both being below expectations.
What really made the visit worthwhile was the stunning view. The restaurant’s prime oceanfront location allows for an uninterrupted gaze at the serene waters and the distant volcano, which made our time here feel special. Service during the morning was average, and the venue seemed more suited for an evening crowd based on its layout and potential vibe.
💡 A FEW NOTES: 1️⃣ Visit for the View 🌅: The picturesque setting is the main draw, making it a great spot to sit back and relax. 2️⃣ Manage Expectations 🍨: The food and drinks are hit-or-miss, so this may not be the place for a gourmet experience. 3️⃣ Better in the Evening 🌙: Likely more lively and atmospheric later in the day, so plan your visit accordingly.

I rarely write reviews immediately after visiting a restaurant — I usually prefer to take my time and reflect. But this time, I simply couldn't hold back. The experience was that appalling.
I first ordered a poke bowl. What arrived was a sad, lifeless salad with no avocado (which no one even bothered to tell me was out of stock), and vegetables that were clearly chopped out of a cheap, prepackaged supermarket bag. Everything looked and tasted artificial.
Trying to salvage the situation, I switched to a Caesar salad. It was a complete disgrace: a pile of wilted romaine leaves, three miserable cherry tomatoes, half of a cold, rubbery hard-boiled egg, and a tiny handful of dry, cold chicken breast. There was no parmesan cheese until I pointed it out, and then it was tossed at me on the side as an afterthought. The "croutons" were just chunks of stale, expired white bread, not even properly toasted.
Yes, the view of the sea is impressive, and the atmosphere might initially fool you — but how anyone could write glowing reviews about the food is beyond comprehension. The food is borderline insulting for the prices they dare to charge.
When I asked to speak to a manager, I was met with utter indifference and told, "This is the restaurant’s standard." If this is their standard, it is shockingly low and unworthy of anyone’s time or money.
There are countless other restaurants where you’ll get genuine quality and respect for what you’re paying. Avoid this place unless you enjoy...
