Bubu Beach Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Nusa Penida Subdistrict

Bubu Beach is very special to us. They are a 15 on 10 for pure vibe and location. Good music, nicely decorated, facing the green-blue sea, with swings on the beach outside is just wonderful. The beach itself is full of pebbles / pieces of bleached coral/ some shells, can be sharp , you need to be a little careful. We had our lunch - veg curry with rice, veg sandwich and fish. The non-veg could've been better. After lunch, we stepped out on the beach for sometime and it was the most tranquil experience. The waves can be strong but that's true for most beaches there.

They have washrooms as well.

We went back in the evening to sip on some coconut water and most enjoyed the live music they had. The singer and guitarist were soothing and covered romantic English pop songs. In the evenings though, there can be a lot of bugs circling the light and on the table, can be quite pesky, so better to sit inside and not facing the sea.

Bubu Beach is a vibe. Loved...

Went just for a morning coffe.

Latte (35K IDR) and flat white (35K IDR) took 15 minutes to make, the staff seemed confused (the same waiter came to us again to ask for order, after we already ordered...). When they brought the order to table, the mixed up which one is late and which one is the flat white ... Also, the flat white milk art had phalic shape 🍆, the latte had nice heart 💜.

We paid with 100k bill, at table, after few minutes we had to go ask for change at counter, as they seemed to forget to return the 30K.

The coffe was decent, and the view was great 😍. There are also free beach swings, and it is right on the shore.

We had a bad experience from the moment we sat down. The waiter took a long time to come and when we went to the bar to order we were told to sit down and wait. It took another 10 minutes for someone to take our order. The main course chicken salad was absolutely tiny, the grilled fish was a few bites large with the tiniest portion of sambal on the side and the hot tea with honey on the side came with sugar - I had to ask for the honey that was included on the menu. We have been to many places on the island and we haven't had an experience like this food and service wise.
