Warung DJ — Restaurant in Nusa Penida Subdistrict

The owner is super nice, and has very good English. Warung DJ has super good prices, excellent selection and high quality menus. Other reviews say this is a hidden gem and I couldn't agree more. It's hidden from the road, and the only thing that gives it away is the hanging RGB led lights. The restaurant has amazing amenities, offering a hand wash station and a bathroom (that you don't have to pay for).

The food is super asthetic and good portions, lots of other restaurants have us order two meals to go home on a half full stomach. Not here, we left very full on single meals! Don't get me started on the drinks, I've been struggling to stay cool here and their milkshakes managed to give me a brain freeze! The family got juices and smoothies and only good things said about those at the table. The juices were so good we would try and distract our own family to get a sip of each other's juices behind each other's backs. I love it! The food has amazing presentation for such a small restaurant!

We ate here both nights we stayed in Nusa Penida. The food was delicious & had a beautiful view. Run by a multi generational family with amazing hospitality. Great vegetarian/vegan options which can be hard to come by in this area. The fried veggie - tofu noodles, curry & the veggie tempura were a few of our favorites. We also enjoyed the gado gado salad, spring rolls, and onion rings. They were happy to make it extra spicy for us too! Very reasonably priced. The restaurant overlooks their farm/yard and we especially loved the puppy visits too ( but if you’re one of those weird people that doesn’t like dogs- they will keep them out of sight). I came to Bali hoping for some really amazing food experiences and I didn't expect that one of the most memorable would be at a random warung that we found on the way to the beach. They have been open less than 2 months and they know how to run a great little place. We felt so welcome here and the food was beyond excellent. So much love and care put into the meals. They have ruined Cap Cay for me now, as it will never taste as good as the two bowls of it that I ate here. We loved it so much that we came back and made it our last meal on Nusa Penida before...
