Warung The Voyage Bali — Restaurant in Nusa Penida Subdistrict

Reviewed 2 days ago Good food but some supply issues! This warung was located close to our homestay. We stopped in on two occasions.

The first time we stopped it was mid-afternoon and we were looking for beer and a snack.They were out of large Bintang so we opted for two small (which is more expensive) and and order of spring rolls. The spring rolls were excellent. Different that in a number of other warungs. These were larger and the wrapper was a bit different.

The next night we decided to stop in for supper. It was a bit busy (for a warung). There were three other tables already seated and someone was coming in for takeout. The poor waitress was running around trying to take orders, cook the food and serve it.

We wanted to order the spring rolls but they were out. Next we tried to order the crispy shrimp, they were out. We finally decided fried calamari. We then tried to order a large Bintang. No luck. All they had was one small Bintang left in the cooler so we took it.

For the main course my husband ordered the chicken curry which was excellent. I opted for the club sandwich which was also very good.

Due to the 3 other tables and few staff dinner did take a bit longer than you would expect in a warung but we were in no hurry.

I originally left a very good review. However hours after eating here I felt like I needed to fart, it was not a fart. I ran to the bathroom and it felt like someone was trying to release the Niagra falls out of a capri-sun straw. I then spent the next 24 hours throwing up and not able to be more than 2 metres from the bathroom.

Let me make this clear I've traveled the world I've eaten in some places you wouldn't even want to use as a bathroom, and this is the only time in my life I've ever had food poisoning.

I'm almost certain it's samonela, the cooks were smoking whilst they cooked so I'm sure they certainly were not washing there hands or cooking surfaces.

Do not eat here if you care about your health.

To the restaurant you really need to review your hygeine and how you store food.

Good. I feel comfortable having dinner here. Not so tasty but easy to eat. Really enjoy the chocolate ice cream. The prawn is awsome! 🍤🍤🍤 The beef oster sauce is a little bit weird.
