Talaga Sampireun — Restaurant in Pondok Aren

Locating in Bintaro area, well, yes this restaurant provide beautiful ambience while having some meal here. As a person who don't know Bintaro, reaching the place is a bit confusing, although using google map, because in real road, there are many intersections and tunnel, but luckily, we've made it.

The place is really instagramable, there're many spot you can use as a background for your pictures. You may choose inside the closed saung or open saung, or maybe the outdoor seating.

They provide Indonesian menu, and all of them are tasty. We were in a group of 30 person and we were all happy. But, unfortunately, it's very pricy, so I would not come again here if I have to pay by myself. Why should I pay too high just for local food? 😅 Our big boss paid Rp. 3.900.000 for 30 persons in 3 packages of meal. But, if you are not worry about the price, this place is recommended place to hang out.

We've waited for 1 hour before the main menu was coming. While we waited and had chit chat with our group, the appetizers came first.

this place is located in a large area, with spacious parking spot, and many different dining area. their specialty is sundanese (west java) foods. i tried the fried chicken, vegetable stir fry, fried tofu, orange juice with sliced coconut meat, etc. everything is delicious even though there's nothing really special. the price is rather expensive and overpriced. it seems like you pay more for the beautiful view they have.

they have large main building if you come in large group. but they also have many smaller hut houses around their large fish pond. the fish pond and the huts are indeed a beautiful outdoor area, with spots to take pictures. in the evening, the lamps would be turned on and give beautiful scenery too.

one of the other downside is that they take so long in preparing the foods. it would be better for you to order first everything you want by phone before coming to this place. if you want to order additional dishes when you eat, you will need to wait for...

I should say that this place serves u good atmoshpere and ambiance but the food are just okay.

I ordered paket ber2 sultan, mie goreng jawa, es teh leci and es teller. The drinks are both less sweet that I expected. The mie goreng is okay. The paket ber2 sultan served with 2 big plates with nasi liwet wrapped-in banana leaf at the centre. The taste are just okay but seriously with the price I pay, I expect more to it. The sambals are blunt, not spicy at all. The gurame, are just plaint gurame, okay with the sambal but if u eat it alone it tastes nothing. The cumi and udang goreng are good. Flies are also problem. Some big green flies disturb our lunch. Putting more fly catcher wont be a harm.

In conclusion I will come back here only for special reason like (maybe) treat foreign client just to impress them with the ambiance and variance of indonesian foods. But not for everytime-seafood-craving situation hahaha..
