This is a legendary warung known to the locals as one of the oldest food stalls in Semarang. The main culinary menu here is “Asem Asem”.

The restaurant was founded in 1978 which is written in one corner inside the restaurant.

Restaurant Koh Liem is like a “warteg” The cook is in the middle, while the customers are sitting around the mini kitchen in a circular formation

Tried both outlets, the original served Non Halal food whilst at their flagship outlet serving Halal food only.

Surprisingly, found the taste is better at flagship store - Asam asam daging, Kodok Udang mentega.

Ambience is totally different,traditional food stall ambience at original store whilst you find modern restaurant at their flagship.

The place is nostalgic! In this outlet at jl. Karang Anyar, the owner preserves the vintage resto styles, which reminds me immediately to my childhood. The asem2 itself tastes heavenly delicious. It's sour, sweet, and refreshing at the same time. We can ask for the level of spiciness, with or without chili. The meat is generously served. The seasoning is seeped well into the meat. Other menus are also tempting the appetite! There are various side dishes on the table. You can find fried tempe, tahu baso, kekian, peyek and many other chips and snacks. Can't help not to taste many of them! Especially on weekend, people crowd the restaurant! What i like more is that the owner is really friendly and the waiters are very nice.
