Come-Xia Artisan Dimsum — Restaurant in Serpong Utara

On the 14 Aug 2022. Came here purely for the love of trying UPSCALE DimSum on sunday 12 oclock, where the (presumably) owner took our waiting list reservation, left our phone number there..

The place was quite busy so She did clearly said that they dont know how long will it be, but we will be given a table once ready, AND SHE WILL GIVE US A CALL on our number directly.. So we can stroll around the area should we dont want to wait in the store. (they have no proper waiting area, so we decided to walk around the nearby convenient store)

We waited until 13.40 and think that this doesnt make sense to wait that long, so we decided to call them if our table is ready? And we found that they just give away the table to any walk in customer without even bother to call us at all.

Long story short on the phone they said they are sorry and that we can come directly for the outdoor table, and we took it..

We came to the resto and they put us on the second floor area. We ordered at around 14.00 several menus at the same time. However some item are not available (including the dessert) and they only told us around 14.15 (order confirmation check at 14.18 & 14.21) so they didnt put in our order for at least 15 minutes..

Food came separately one by one with quite a gap on the time.. Quite finish with the food at 15.05 and has asked for the desert to be served..

Waited for 40 minutes and have asked several waiter for several times but there's still no sign that the dessert will come out anytime soon. So we asked the female waiter should the dessert wont be coming out then just give us the bill.

Around 15.50 Been done waiting, we decided to come down and asked for the confirmation. However They dont have the answer, so we just ask for the check..

They print out the wrong check 2 times which come from another table for us to pay, obviously I rejected and asked us one again to list down our order.. The cashier keep saying sorry but whats done is done..

The female (presumably) owner that took our waiting list was there but doesnt even bother to look at us.

Maybe we just put too much expectation on this new upscale dimsum resto, but they simply doesnt have the capacity to deliver..

The Price is quite reasonable though. Around 30K which quite Ok.

Goodluck! Better come when there is less crowd.

Har Gow & Xiao Long Bao (5/10) Wrappers/skins were too thick and half-raw. Fillings not juicy enough. Tasted like frozen food.

Signature Low Mai Gai (3/10) One of the worst LMG I’ve ever tasted. Bland seasoning. We were craving for stickier rice and creamier yolk.

Salted Egg Sesame Ball (1/10) Egg yolk filling was dry and not melting. We were done after just one small bite. Not recommended at all.

Steamed Beancurd Roll (6/10) Seasoning was a little bland and nothing special.

Shrimp Cakwe Mayo (9/10) One of the best dish we ordered. Crispy cakwe layered with addictive sweet mayo. Would’ve given 10/10 if it was meatier. Really helped us eating the LMG.

Baked Char Siu Bao (10/10)🌟 The best dish! Baked to perfection. Filled with juicy and finger-lickin good char siu. More enjoyable with their kickin chili oil.

Polo Bun (6/10) On the drier and crumbly side. Not moist enough. Not buttery enough.

Hot Ocha (9/10) Very fragrant and relaxing. Even served individually using rustic teapot. A very nice little gesture.

Conclusion: They missed a very huge opportunity. With strategic location, glamour interior, and top-notch services, they should’ve prepared way better foods. Quality check must be significantly improved.

Sorry, but we are not coming back in the near future and won’t be recommending to relatives too. We hope ComeXia is improving soon cause they have sufficient...

This restaurant is a Japanese-inspired themed restaurant but they are very popular with their dimsum dishes so I only tried them. It's my first time to eat in this place and I ordered their best-seller/Chef's recommended dimsums. Here is my detailed review:

Food and drinks: 8.5/10 Their regular dimsum serving is 3 portion per plate except for the chao guo tie. Each dimsum is full of filling and very tasty. If there's one food that I highly recommend that would be their Salted Egg Yolk Bao because the filling is not too salty nor too sweet. It is best consume when it's hot. Moreover, I have only tried their signature hot tea, they are really using pure leaves and flowers. My recommended food to try are Salted Egg Yolk Bao, Signature Lo Mai Gai, Siu Mai and Xiao Long Bao.

Ambience: 10/10 Despite the restaurant's interior is small but I highly recommend the second floor dining area because it looks like you are in Japan as you have to remove your shoes and go in their dining cubicle. Al fresco dining is also available.

Service: 9/10 The crew are nice and accommodating. However, you have to order early since they serve the food a bit late. But I think it's worth it since they served my food hot and fresh.

Price: 9/10 At first, I couldn't believe with their price most especially it is inside in a luxurious Apartment. However, their price is reasonable and affordable. The range of their dimsum is IDR 30,000 - 40,000.

Overall, this place is highly recommended if you want aesthetic ambience and artsy...
