Waroeng Belik — Restaurant in Special Region of Yogyakarta

This place is traditionally amazing.

The traditional food is phenomenal, there are so many options to choose. Variations of veggies, proteins, and even you get to choose what kind of rice do you want, between red rice or plain white rice.

And don't get me started on Lele Mangut, it makes me went for more. Literally.

The Perkedel is so well seasoned, and there are so many variations of eggs.

The food is arranged in a prasmanan way, so you can see how varied it is. And let me tell you, the taste was even better than the look.

There is also a separate stand for Gorengan in the back and the Mendoan Tempe is very reccomended.

The structure of the place and the interior is well-arranged. You can eat at the main hall where antiques from the land of Java are decorating the place, or you can eat at the few cottages outside and enjoy the nature.

Even though the building was only made of wood and tiled roof, it gives off a homey and comfy feeling while being drenched with culture. There areso many traditional antiques in the building, and hey, is that an antique rad bike for you to get a good photos with?

The payment is very simple you could just take your plate full of food, show it to the cashier, and they'll count the price based off the things on your plate. Don't forget to order the drinks at the cashier. And don't worry, the drink is also as delicious.

So, good place, good food, good furnitures, good feelings. All in all, it seems like a good sold for me.

WILL NEVER EVER RETURN TO THIS RESTAURANT AGAIN. Just had an extremely unpleasant experience while enjoying dinner with my friends in this restaurant tonight. It was approximately 8:50 pm when the staffs suddenly turned off the entire light at the garden (outdoor tables) while we were walking out about to leave this restaurant (I thought it was supposed to be closed at 10pm, at least according to Google). It was totally and completely dark with no lighting at all so we had to manage to get out of the restaurant safely (it was raining too imagined if we slipped or fell to the pond???). IT WAS EXTREMELY IMPOLITE I must say. It would be so so much better if the staffs kindly inform us that the restaurant is about to close so we could peacefully leave, rather than abruptly turning all the lights off. POOR...

Disclaimer: Berdasarkan pengalaman nyata saya kesana yg datang hari Rabu, 1 Februari 2023. Saya kasih review jelek hanya sebagai pertimbangan / warning bagi yg belum kesini. Tentu bukan hak saya melarang calon konsumen untuk datang ke resto ini. Saya tidak ada kepentingan apa2 dan kurang kerjaan kalau menutup rezeki orang.

Saya pendatang dari Jabotabek, terus nyari makan di google, ketemulah tempat ini dengan rating bagus dari jumlah review udah ratusan. Setelah tiba disana sekitar pukul 13.30, ternyata tempat cukup sepi dibanding ekspektasi. Hanya sekitar 3 meja yg terisi tamu. Saya ambil nasi, telur, dan sayur, itu saja! karena menu yang tersedia sekitar 8-10 menu. Lalu adik saya ambil menu sama persis, lalu istri saya ambil sekitar 4 menu: 2 sayur, tahu, 1 lagi saya lupa. Lalu kami ditawari gorengan. Mengejutkan sekali, setelah pembayaran di kasir harganya 102rb. Saya cek detailnya ternyata harga nasi + sayur 13rb ! telur dadar 8500!! saya bingung yg ngasih review makan disini murah darimana ya? saya berlibur di jogja sudah 2 minggu lebih, dan sebelum2nya di resto lain harganya sangat jauh di bawah harga resto lain. Parahnya, setelah selesai makan gorengan baru tiba di meja dalam keadaan panas sekali, belum bisa dimakan. Harusnya tidak usah tawari gorengan kalau belum ada / belum dimasak. cuma resto ini yang saya kasih bintang 1 karena harganya mahal, rasanya b aja (bbrp warteg/warmindo lebih enak), kurang nyaman krn banyak semut merah, anak saya yang masih toddler terpaksa dipegangin oleh istri yang sambil makan karena takut kegigit semut merah. Tidak betah berlama-lama, makanan masih belum turun ke lambung 😁, langsung ke mobil. Pergi.

Menu hanya seperti di warmindo, rasanya pun b aja. Bedanya di warmindo mungkin cuma keluar uang 25-35rb makan segitu, dan tanpa diganggu...
