Borre Cafe — Restaurant in Surabaya

The foods was good but the services not good (for me, personally).

We were sitting on the outdoor area. But then, we decided and asked to moved in as the rain poured. We've sat down in indoor area for more than 30mintes yet no food came out. Even my chamomile tea getting warm.

Then I asked, "how many longer do I need to wait for my food?" (As my mom noticed, the Supervisor (I believe, man on blue tshirt) and the crews was staring at my table, like they talked behind you, but that was so obvious, till my mom noticed it)

Turns out, they missed my order and served other first. Smh. I ordered french fries as an appetizer yet my beef bowl and beef salad came first (my main menu).

I mean, I've paid the extra charge for the service (besides the tax) Yet they cant handle it?

After all served. The blue tshirt man just saying, "I'm sorry cz we got distracted by group coming in." Thats wasnt acceptable apology, for me. I felt like, "okay, since I just spend around 400-ish, you just skipped me for bigger catch even I came first and pay first?"

Overall, I came hungry and have to wait for another 40-60mins till my food come. (It was takes 20mins for my drinks served)

Oh and when we were there, there was problem with the electricity. It went off and on for severals times. The side effects was slightly headache (the lights goes on and off, OFTEN while I am eating.) and start feel the heat since the AC off also.

The table besides me, also complain for the electricity and how they handle this. I even need to request for candle so my eyesight have lil comfortable with (at least) constant brightness (not from fair brightness and got to dark all of sudden, smh).

I mean, the crews and blue-tshirt-man cant read the situation pretty well and didnt came up with solution(s).

Take a bold note, tbf and tbh : Besides their not-so-good services, surprisingly, their food is good! Beef bowl, good! Beed salad, good! Lychee tea, fair. Fries, fair. Chamomile tea, fair.

But I wont comeback for the experience....

Good ambiance, comfortable, clean, food is nice and the price is ok. But the songs choices were boring, it’s 2023 and tons of good music but the songs played here is all 80s songs, which suitable for my parents such as “don’t cry for me argentina”, “hello” by Lionel Richie. I was born on 1989, so I know that kind of songs called oldies, and in this cafe there’s no grandpas and grandmas doing their regular rhythmical dance. I was here for doing some paperwork. Please change the playlist otherwise this place will be called Boring. And the staff doing their preparations and briefing in the main area such as preparing the silverware, cutting some leaves etc, it’s...

Tried their gyutandon but it doesnt fit my palate, because im used to the savoury taste but their gyutandon have a slight sesame flavor and sweet taste. Not gonna revommend the gyutandon if u expect savory gyutandon taste, but the creamy katsu don taste really great.

Their beverages is the best ! baileys creamy latte (non-coffee) taste really good.

Service wise, I didnt experience their peak time but I think their serving time is decent enough, slow service ~ kinda, u have to remind the waiter/waitress if u ask for tissues or some utensils.

Gonna score this place 4 because of the services. but their food, beverages and ambience...
