Caturra Espresso — Restaurant in Surabaya

Not the best coffee in town, but they are serious coffee players who explore Caturra variety by heart. The espresso and milk based beverages are okay, but the black coffee is a bit off of my taste. I can't find the clarity on the taste and felt thick in my tongue.

I appreciate the cold drip varies; both Aceh and Blue Batak, it has the rare clear acidity that usually not appear in Caturra. And the affogato with rhum ice cream is really tempting. I tried chicken wing (quite en masse??) and just tasted right.

Looks like that it's one of the most happening place to hang out for the young generation. If the rating hasn't been so amazing then I might give a better rating, but as a highly rated place then my expectation is higher. The atmosphere is great, but the service isn't that great. Sometimes I have to wait for a while before a staff noticed my signal to be served. My fave coffee shop everytime I visit Surabaya. Nice place and design, sufficient parking area, professional service, non smoking area has strong AC, smoking area is good enough though I can’t avoid the hot and humid weather in Sby. Maybe adding a standing fan for smoking area would help the air circulation there. Nice bar and good coffee, price is a bit high but worth the price considering the place, beans and service. Suitable for individual, group or friends, even family. Recommended!
