Foye Bistro - Dharmahusada — Restaurant in Surabaya

Not our first time here, but first time to leave feedback.

The food is really good, especially the one I ordered, fried chicken with rice. The rice has special flavor and the chicken is juicy instead of oily. Amazing! Yet the display is better than my photographic skills can show.

The parking attendant guides you to a shady area due to the parking area being nearly totally exposed to sun light without shading, I think this can be done by the owner to improve a bit.

Everything is good since it is more than a fusion bistro. You get everything you like here except chopsticks, that is just a funny point that I found. Generally speaking, Indonesians do not use chopsticks.

The decor is modern with Hong Kong twist, but the posters with Mandarin translation are mostly incorrect. That is funny yet sad. For Mandarin readers, it is easy to point out the errors, not only the direct translation is wrong, but also the meaning. Chinese Indonesians were cut off from the tie with Chinese language and that is the current outcome. Fortunately and unfortunately, not many picky mandarin readers like me to point that out. I don’t think the owners know this, too.

Overall, it is a nice small bistro to meet with friends and enjoy good...

Food was great. Service was good, waitress was great! Owner needs to care more about customer's needs. Some people have severe allergy reaction and would request certain food to be replaced by something else. But they do not allow this even if the change is actually pretty easy and would actually cost them less to make it. It's disappointing that they did not care this much. Saying that it's already part of the menu, okay I get it. But will you care a bit more? So many places let customer substitute seafood to chicken just easily and I'm talking about cheaper restaurants (not fancy ones). This place is not on the lower range but definitely would not let you substitute which is dissapointing for their...

Exuding fancy vibes right off the first impression with the clean mix of dark green and brick red, Foye's authenticity of modern asian vibe runs all throughout the elements that made it up–starting from the layout, decorations, even the curated menu. This total immersion in the concept enables Foye to showcase an aesthetically pleasing ensemble that will leave customers with too many seating options as they would rather be everywhere all at once.
