Gawa Cafe — Restaurant in Surabaya

We ordered the poke bowl, it tasted super duper good! My only complaint was that there was too much pickled ginger, since I don’t like the taste of it, I removed it from the rice to not taste it as much. If you like the taste of pickled ginger, the poke bowl’s for you!

We also ordered the snack platter to share, it was really good all things considered. The proportions could be more balanced, because I felt that there were too little onion rings. Also, the fried mushrooms, although they were crispy, when biting into them, they had this weird, soggy texture inside, which left a pungent, unpleasant aftertaste.

The second main dish We ordered was the chicken karaage burger. The burger itself was decent, but coming from my friend, they found that the mentai mayo was making them nauseous(blenek).

The drinks we ordered were great: the Crème Brûlée Frappe and the Peach Yakult. The latter of which was great, it tasted as it was named and i would drink it again. “The Crème Brûlée Frappe got boring after drinking too much,” my friend said.

You won't see this place easily from the road. It'a a cafe at the 3rd floor of a place that sells piano and also piano courses. There's a small sign in front of the building. The ambience is great and cozy, lots of natural light, and I love the interior design. The waiters are friendly and professional. The food and drinks tastes great. I ordered salmon teriyaki, the salmon was fresh. I personally recommend that you try the salmon menu. The price is reasonable, not that pricy considering the area. price is reasonable considering taste and it's surrounding area. the sign is small and not really noticeable form the road. it's on the 6th floor of a music instrument showroom. elevator is available. since it's 6th floor it's gonna be quite windy but not hot as the outdoor area has som sort of roof to keep the sun light directly from you, the indoor sitting area is not big but comfortable. ocha is free flow but they won't tell you unless you ask(took me 3 visits to know) the bathroom is clean and comfortable. oyakodon and udon...
