Mawar Cafe — Restaurant in West Nusa Tenggara

I recently visited Mawar Café in Gili Trawangan and, unfortunately, it was a deeply disappointing experience. Despite the beautiful surroundings, the visit was marred by several issues. First, the prices for drinks were far higher than expected. The cost for beers was excessive compared to other spots on the island, which was surprising and frustrating. The café seems to be capitalizing on its location without delivering quality service or products in return. The biggest issue, however, was the food. The chicken I ordered had a horrible smell, which immediately put me off. I couldn’t even finish my meal because it was so unappetizing. It left me concerned about the food safety standards at the café, and I really hope I won’t get sick from eating there. Overall, Mawar Café was a letdown. The prices here are almost like a scam. When you pay they will add an 15% extra charge for no reason even though this is not stated in the menu or anywhere else.

The seafood soup should be renamed the seawater soup - it was almost as salty as the seawater I just snorkeled in. The steak burger was nothing to write home about.

The two waiters did not even know what were the dishes they brought us and had to keep going back to the counter to ask. As a party of 7 that ordered a lot of food, they had to do this a lot. They even managed to deliver a glass of juice to an empty table far away and only brought it to us when we reminded them of the missing...

We arrived and hired snorkels from the cafe. we put our things onto the sun beds and went for a swim. We ordered some drinks whilst sitting on the beds, when I went to pay there was an additional 10% tax which wasn't mentioned or noted on the menu. When we went to leave they said there is an additional 100,000idr for using the sunbed because we didn't order food, which also not mentioned to us. I ordered some food which came out pretty quickly . Overall wouldn't recommend this place just due to their sneaky money grabbing methods and there are definitely more cheaper, and more honest places...
