We are regular travellers to the Gilis and always stay at Bale Sampan when we go to Gili T.It has a more transiant feel to it these days with people coming going overnight and then moving on.We had 6 days and were sick for the first 3 so I suppose that puts a damper on your stay.We were welcomed back with a personal message on our bed and the rooms were just as they were and fine.Comfortable bed, frersh water and no plastics(which I love)Nice toiletries, plenty of towels, cloths dryers and nice outdoor chair. We love the cats at this hotel and they are a draw card for us as we spend a lot of time with them. All healthy, sterilized and FAT from being fed.100m up the road is Turtle point and boy are there turtles there.3ft of water and you are swimming with them and have to be careful you dont run into them. The location of Bale Sampan is great too because you are on the main strip but its quiet and no nightclubs keeping you awake all night. The mosque is noisy as its maybe 200m away but I love the Call to Prayers so even the 5am call is soothing. Not for all and just mentioned if you like your sleep in.The breakfasts are OK but there isnt so many options of juices. Its watermelon and not great.Eggs, noodles, muslies and panecakes but it gets old.Great barista coffees and fresh fruits but eat early. We went snorkelling one morning before breakfast and came back to the restaurant packed with non guests and nearly an hour wait for our breakfast and had to call them over to order. We ordered lunch one day and asked for tomato and cucumber in our roll.Roll arrived and wasnt what ever ordered being ham and we got pulled chicken but ate it anyway not to make a fuss and then they turned up with our original order.Wouldnt recomment the bagettes and they used to be divine. The staff were fine but not the bubbly people there on previous visits,We opted not to have our room cleaned for a couple of days due to the one time they had done it him took an hour to make a beautiful decoration on the bed and we had to wait outside for him to finish and we just wanted to lie down and relax. After that all our empty bottles and cans were left for 4 days on our verandah and no ashtrays emptied off the table and around the pool. They need to be onto cleaning up outside the rooms. No dinners as the kitchen closes at 6pm but there are so many restaurants right across the road.Bicycle hire, snorkelling gear hire and you can book tours as well.Sun chairs on the beach which was great so we could have 2 of the 4 beds by the pool.We will still stay here again but Im sure for the price there are better options in...
Read moreIt would be very hard to not give Bale Sampan a 5 star review.
The staff are super friendly and very helpful, keep very clean rooms (for the islands) cook amazingly beautiful food all day and make sure your stay is a very memorable one!
Location: Absolutely perfect, less then a 10 minute walk from the harbour port, directly across the road from a beautiful beach with your own beach chairs, crystal clear waters perfect for snorkelling for the whole family, we even saw large turtles swimming within 5m from shore. You’re also close enough to walk to the local night market for a great feed and there are so many bars and other restaurants within a short stroll.
Rooms: Very comfortable, clean, well made up each day, environmentally caring with change overs, great air con, lovely verandah to hang out on.
Breakfast: Amazing choices for breaky! For us that is! Vegan/Vego options made us extremely happy! Food was always beautifully prepared and really delicious. Even the food they serve all day was just awesome, I really can’t send how anyone could complain about the food in a review.
All in all an amazing and VERY memorable stay at Bale Sampan... thank you so much 🙏
The only slight issue... and this is in no way related to Bale Sampan, more a (need to know) Gili T has a mosque and the prayers are put through a loud speaker up to 5 times a day. You can hear this from Bale Sampan. But... in saying that they overall experience at Sampan out weighed the...
Read moreGreat place, just on the edge of the main strip around the port. You can walk 200 metres to your left to get to Tyrtle Point and 200 metres to your right for all the bars and restaurants. |This place also has a beautiful cafe stretching from the property and also on the beach. They do great breakfasts, lunch, and dinner. We paid for breakfast in our room rate and were impressed every day. You get a fresh juice (we had dragon fruit. Watermelon, and a mix of both),, a plate of fruit (usually pineapple, 2 melon types, and dragon fruit), coffee/latte/tea/etc, then a choice of many gorgeous offerings (see pics for menu and a few items).|The rooms were very spacious, lovely big comfy beds, wardrobe, mini bar, everything you would need. Beautifully decorated in a beach style. Bathroom was big with a great shower, and had your shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and hand wash. Rooms also had a lovely wicker type beach bag with beach towels. |The property is right on a lovely beach where you also have sun loungers.|The staff who work here are an asset to the property. All very polite and always willing to help. From reception, to cafe/restaurant, room cleaners, and those tending the grounds. They really made our stay pleasurable. |Would definitely stay here again and recommend for others visiting the island.|Well done...
