WAJAN Warung Jaman Now — Restaurant in West Nusa Tenggara

I am mostly vegetarian with the only exception being that I eat seafood on occasion. Their vegetarian options didn't sound very good to me at the time, so I went ahead and ordered some marinara pasta with squid and prawns. The pasta had no prawns, only a couple pieces of squid and contained mostly chicken which I do not eat and was not supposed to be in the dish at all. I felt disgusted and pretty violated when I took a bite of something that I thought was seafood only to realize that it was chicken and have spit it out. I did not enjoy my meal from that point on and had to pick out the pile of chicken from my pasta before I could finish eating. It's a nice good place with cheap food. They have serious management issues though.

Serious:

-They offered me magic mushrooms just after I order. This is just stupid.

-They have party loud music. That is for the next street. Chill neutral music is the key for the places that are full all the time.

Small:

-The menu is small and quite basic. 2 hours using Canva would take you to the next level.

-They attack the clients checking the menu at the entry. Most of your clients are not from Asia. Only bad places needs to convince people to enter. The place looks cool and clean. Solve the above and they will enter by themselves. Great them once they are in.

-Inform if the food is spicy while ordering and double check the order. Pad Thai was spicy and I was given nudles instead of rice in my second order. I kind of don't care...

Not really that fantastic as mentioned by other guides. Chef is hanging around at the dining. The server was polite. When I ordered Marinara Pasta, the server informed the Chef and the Chef unsure what is Marinara Pasta. He has to refer to the menu for the ingredients. OMG. When the food arrived, it was very small portion and comes with 2 slices of bread which I guess to stuff yourself in case you are not full. The calamari was hard as if it’s frozen or overcooked. The prawn and pasta sauce were good. Got to give them the credit for it. Perhaps should try out the local Cruisine instead of Italian pasta. But it was named as...
