I’ve been coming to The Grill since the day they opened, and it’s consistently been one of my favorite spots in the city. Through all the ups and downs this place and the city has faced, including COVID, they’ve managed to maintain a high standard across the board: food, service, and especially shisha.
Honestly, their shisha has no competition in the region. It’s always smooth, clean, and managed by a team that clearly knows what they’re doing. Whether it’s weekend brunch, their weekday lunch offers, or dinner service, I’ve always left satisfied and looking forward to the next visit.
That said, something’s changed lately. Over the past few months, the waitstaff have become noticeably less attentive. The host ladies are the ones stepping up, checking in, offering help, doing the table touch-ins you’d normally expect from the server. Meanwhile, the waitress is often walking around aimlessly or standing in a corner chatting, without checking on guests unless I get their attention to come by.
It hasn’t ruined my experience yet, but it’s a shift that stands out especially from a place that usually gets it right. I hope it’s just a temporary dip, because The Grill is still one of the best-run spots in Erbil. Every other restaurant should come...
Read moreI have been here on 15th February 2024 for lunch. Before writing my observations I would like to mention one point. Before visiting this place I quickly read some reviews, specially low rates. For sure it's none of my business to comment on others reviews but some of them were complaining about staff, service and rude behaviors. This is really surprising to see very professional, kind staff are welcome people and serve in a really professional way, most probably guys noted that reviews haven't been in this place. Anyway let's go to the main subject, this is one of best decorated restaurants I have visited in Erbil. Specially height is very good for providing fresh air in a place where shisha service available. Otherwise it's really very bad for non smoking people to be in such places. About the food, I go for their lunch offer. I experience a tasty salmon on grilled vegetables with rice and potato sides. As starter I had tomato soup, finally a nice cream caramel with orange juice. Really a first class restaurant, I don't know regular menu prices but lunch offers 25 $ is excellent for such a place. Would like to revisit this place for a dinner...
Read moreThe Grill in Erbil is a stylish and upscale spot, perfect for a night out or a special occasion. Located in the Gulan Park World Trade Center, it offers a sleek interior with high ceilings and both indoor and outdoor seating options, creating a relaxed yet refined atmosphere.
The food is a highlight—especially the steaks, which many diners consider among the best in Erbil. The brunch menu also receives praise, with dishes like English breakfast, French toast, and shakshuka being standout choices. The cocktails and shisha are popular as well, adding to the overall experience.
Service is generally friendly and attentive, though some guests have noted occasional lapses in consistency. While the restaurant is on the pricier side, many find the quality of food and ambiance justifies the cost.
Overall, The Grill offers a memorable dining experience with delicious food and a pleasant setting. It's a great choice for those looking to enjoy a quality...
