Nico's (Claregalway) — Restaurant in County Galway

Would not even give this place 1 star, not due to food, but customer service (although chips are ALWAYS cold. Ordered takeaway on phone was told 10 - I was there on time but waited 20 min to be served - all the while food drying out & getting cold on counter - no system in place - staff could not find the numbers in bags that were given to customers. When rude woman in shop was question about this, she replied “she doesn't cook the food”. When going to pay for the order - but again questioning, NOT ARGUING OR RUDE, but questioning system, some rude italian grabs the bags off the counter and tells me, actual quote “I don’t give a ** - get out & don’t come back” - after using this place for last 20 years I can confidently say I will not be back - the service is disgusting & the staff rude and while food is nice the chips are always cold. Serious customer care retraining needs to be done and if the staff cannot handle any heat they should not in a kitchen - you do not treat customers, especially in front of other customers in...

Best chips around. Nice thick chips actually made of potato unlike those you'd get in McDonalds etc. This is your traditional fish and chip shop (chipper) which also makes and serves a variety of other food like (made to order) pizza etc. Closed on Mondays as far as I know but everyone deserves a day off !

As an added bonus, if you want to see the best memory in Galway in action, go there when it's busy and watch the lady behind the counter remember everything. Really...

Tasteless chips and laughable portion of chicken goujons. No salt, no ketchup, but the best of all is that premium price tag : 4.50 for regular portion of disgusting chips ( they call it Large... ) and 4.10 for small and burnouts chicken goujons ( just 4 pcs! ) ... See the picture... Pathetic, charging 8.60 for that rubish food... Better go to hotel lobby bar beside instead. Proper food portion, taste and prices. Definitely NOT...
