Buffalo Boy — Restaurant in County Leitrim

EXCELLENT * 10/10 * CAN'T WAIT TO RETURN *

Had a table booked for party of five friends on Saturday eve. Arrived 20 mins early and were given a very friendly welcome by our server, Niamh. We were kindly led to a free table out front for drinks as our reserved table wasn't ready. Drinks menu is really extensive so we had a great selection. Had a great pint of Guinness and a G&T later.

We were later invited to dine at the table where we were waiting/having drinks, if we wished and we decided to do so ( the atmosphere out front was warm and relaxing).

Niamh did a great job explaining the menu and double-checked all our orders once we completed them.

Food came out relatively quick and we were all very happy with it. Two of us had burgers and fries, two had small chicken caeser salads, and one had fish and chips. Couple sides of fries, and pepper sauce. All delicious, if I had to be picky and critique anything, I'd have liked the fries a little drier/more crispy.

We got our bill afterwards and couldn't believe that for a main course plus 2 x drinks each, the price (including almost 20 euros tip), was only €36 each! Niamh kindly split the bill for us, and then explained all the local options for us to continue our evening in the local bars etc.

Absolutely 10/10 service, friendly staff, excellent food l... would 100% recommend to friends.

As the only Leitrim native in our group, and having not been out in Carrick in over a decade or two, I felt very proud of our county town and the fabulous dining experience we were given 💚💛 Well done...

If you want to feel degraded and feel like you are a second class citizen please go to this place as it will not disappoint in making a person feel like your money nor personality will live up to there standards. We were a walk in group just as they opened for service. Met by member of staff asking if we had a booking. Unfortunately we did not. We gently asked when is the earliest available time slot. A very sharp and quick no. I then asked we can split the group of 9 up into a few smaller tables as this would help not having to move tables around but still was awarded with a firm no. I then asked if I sit by myself as all of the group had left the premises at this stage as I really wanted to try this place for a seriously long time but was still told no as they were all booked out. There was 2 people eating food in the restaurant and they only take hourly bookings, one table had a reverse label on it the rest was empty. The level of disrespect by person leading the face of this company needs a people management course as he could not even make eye contact nor had even a good manor to even make up a good reason as to why. It seems like this is the norm. Thankfully I spent my money somewhere else. This is great advertising for the rest of the restaurants as they will gladly take your business. We arrived a couple of minutes early for our 6pm booking & were asked to wait while they cleared out space upstairs. This would normally be no big deal but we were there for approx 20mins before being called upstairs & in that time weren't even asked if we'd like to go ahead & order a drink. We were a group of 4 sat waiting at a table for 4 but could not use this table for some unknown reason. The noise upstairs was crazy, which obviously wasn't the restaurants fault but having to shout across the table at each other over dinner wasn't very nice & even my 5yr old was complaining about the noise. Downstairs had a much more relaxed atmosphere & we would have much preferred to have stayed down there. Majority of the food was tasty but the chips were soggy, kids goujons were mainly just batter & all was a bit overpriced. Food even arrived before the wine with the reason being that they were waiting on wine glasses! Staff were attentive but none of them knew which table had already been tended to so a number of different staff kept approaching us to take orders etc. When booking, I was asked if there was an occasion that they should be aware of which I thought was a very nice touch. When I said it was for my dad's birthday they offered to arrange a small birthday dessert plate but this never arrived. All in all I feel that our experience could have been...
