River View Bistro — Restaurant in County Westmeath

I ordered a delivery from My Melody at 3 o'clock from the Just Eat App to be delivered at 6 O'clock on Sunday 2nd August. Straight away i got a message to say it will be delivered between 15 - 60 minutes. So i rang the restaurant. They said that the rack of lamb i ordered was no longer available so i ordered the duck instead. When my order arrived the duck was so overcooked it was burnt and inedible and there was no chips with the other order of Chicken. I contacted the restaurant again and was told they were busy and couldn't do anything for me. I asked for the manager to ring me back within 30 minutes. After about an hour and half i rang them back and I asked for the delivery guy to come back and take the food back so they could see it for themselves. I was told that I would have to pay for the driver to take it back. When I asked him to refund my money, i was told there was nothing they could do for me they offered me another meal but i was not hungry after seeing what they sent me out in the first place.

This is an absolute farce. I feel i was disrespected and undermined on the phone by the management. I have been to My Melody on several occasions with family from overseas. This is the first bad experience and believe me its going to be my last....

Please don't visit this restaurant. Was in Athlone last weekend and had the misfortune to have this excuse for a restaurant recommended by tourist information in the castle for good outdoor dining? Finally received food after waiting an hour. Took quite a while to be given menu's. Tables were sticky. Service was terrible. Staff were totally inexperienced and kept delivering the food to the wrong tables and didnt much care. Owner put more tables up outside that were folding picnic tables and were grotty and unsteady. No attempt was made to hide the dirty stains on them. There was no attempt at social distancing under the gezebo. The food was mediocre and not worth what we paid for it. My partner said the mens toilets were disgusting and the womens were no better. Makes me wonder what the kitchen was like. The owner crammed as many people in as possible with untrained staff and took full advantage of the fact that there was a scarcity of restaurants with outside dining to rip people off and give them the worst experience possible for their hard earned money....

The worst service I've ever experienced, avoid at all costs. Myself and my husband were in Athlone on Saturday evening and were looking for food, everywhere was busy. We stumbled upon this place. Suppose the fact it was empty on a busy Saturday evening should have been enough of a warning. We literally were the only ones there. The waitress had absolutely no personal skills at all. Ordered a bottle of wine, she just left it on the table, unopened. I was still eating my dinner and my husband was finished and she came down looking for our dessert order!!!!! I was clearly still eating my dinner. Was like she was trying to rush us out even though we were the only customers there, nobody waiting on the table. My husband had dessert and as soon as she saw he was finished, she came straight down with the bill and the credit card machine and asked us to pay!!! We still had a full glass of wine to drink. I've never come across service like it. Pure rude. Is an experience I won't forget in a hurry for all the wrong reasons. Even if you're absolutely starving,...
