You NEVER KNOW where you are having a PINT of GUINNESS nowadays do you ???? I taught the Freedom of Speech was a Citizens Wright. Well apparently NOT in the Baily Pub in Athlone, Instead of Thanking Me for bringing a Guinness Problem to the Attention of Management I have been Barred from the premises. In a Resturant if you ordered Steak/Bottle of Wine and the wine was Corked or the Steak was Off you would bring this to the Attention of the Management and also be Thanked. THIS IS MY STORY ……. On Feb14th 2023 I ordered a Humble Pint of Guinness in my local pub the Bailey Pub, I have Frequenting this Pub On and Off since the mid 1980’s with different Owners and Management. ALL was WELL until I was served a Pint of Guinness without taking a mouthful of the Liquid in the Glass the head was Brown and frothy Bubbles. I taste the Liquid supposedly Guinness it was Absolutely HORRIFIC, I knew it wasn’t Dirty Line as the Guinness Maintenance guy cleaned the lines the day before. I Returned the glass of Liquid to the Bartender saying it’s “ ROTTEN ” stating “ maybe it’s a bad keg “. Because as a Rule the Guinness WAS Fantastic they could have been delivered a Rogue Keg (well it could happen ) The barman returned with loads of Excuses Blaming the Dishwasher stating that their maybe MILK in a glass put into the Dishwasher with other Excuses. The Barman presented me with yet another pint of Liquid it was Exactly if NOT WORSE than my previous pint, I again brought back the pint of Liquid stating that their was No change in the Quality of the Liquid, He didn’t Accept this, I then Suggested changing the Keg, This wasn’t going to Happen so I left the Bailey Pub without my Pint of Guinness . I called Guinness Quality Control and told them the story they Thanked me for Informing them of the Problem with the Guinness at the Bailey Bar Athlone and said that they would send a Quality Technician out Immediately. I Visited the Bailey Pub on the Thursday or Friday 16th Feb2023 I ordered a Pint of Guinness asking in JEST “ how is the Guinness today “ I didn’t get a Reply but a FROSTY RECEPTION the New Female Manager Shanon who stated later “ their was nothing wrong with your Guinness the other day “, The FROSTINESS continued from the Manager/Staff I tried to have a Conversation but NO LUCK, I had Two\Three pints the FROSTINESS got Worse, I decided to Leave the Baily Pub from Boredom The Guinness was back to Normal as it should be. I Returned to the Bailey Pub Yesterday 20th Feb 2023. But Guess what ???? I ordered a Pint of Guinness from the Manager Shanon and greeted her as I usually do, Ten or Fifteen minutes later I got a TIP on my Shoulder from Shanon asking me ……., “ May I have a word with you outside “ Shanon went on to Tell Me ….. “ Your Barred from the premises “ I asked WHY ????? Shanon replied …. “ You Complained to Guinness about US “ And I was talking to customers about the Quality of the Guinness at the Baily Pub. Which isn’t TRUE. Also asking when I came into the Bailey Pub “ how is the Guinness today “ I usually do, I have been Barred from the Bailey Pub because I make a Legitimate Complaint. So if you don’t want to get Barred from the Bailey Pub Athlone DON’T COMPLAIN about the Quality of what is been Served to you and other Customers beware In conclusion I WILL say for YEARS our Great-Great Grandparents Fought to be FREE of this type of Censorship. Not to mention the Great President Nelson Mandela RIP and our Michale Collins RIP who over Hundreds of years Fought to STOP Sheriffs/ Bailiff's Burning TATCH off our Homes. It’s a Pity this isn’t been Implemented in Bailey Pub I also WORRY about the Reaction of the Manager Shanon why she Reacted in such a Manner for letting Guinness Quality Control know the Problem after all Guinness THANKED ME. One of the reasons I drank in the Bailey Pub is that WE the public trusted the Quality of the Products served. The only other Conclusion I can make is that the Bailey Pub is RECLYCING Guinness and other Product WAST known in the Trade as SLOPS

What a...

This was a terrible experience. We were so hungry and wanted to have lunch here. The pub was busy but we asked the waiter if they had space for us. They took us in, and were nice. But first we didn’t even get the menu cards. Then we just red the menus out front. We ordered the food in the bar and they served our drinks. After 15 min the waiter came out and said that they were sorry for the delays, but there would be 10 minutes more. We said that was okay and waited politely. He didn’t come out the next 40 min, and when my sister went in to ask, they had served a table of 5 that came 10 min after us, even though we were 4 . He said then our food was ready and she went out again. After 7 min he still hadn’t even brought out anything… not even any cutlery… I then went in to the staff and said that this was not acceptable. No response from them. I then decided to pay our drinks, that was 14 euros for no food, just 4 small lemon sodas and very hungry stomachs. I am a waitress my self and this behaviour is not acceptable. Not even a sorry from their side, we should not even have paid for the bill but just left, because no service was given and only bad excuses. If they didn’t have space for us, then they shouldn’t have taken us in and the next table in. So we are very said about our experience and would give 0 stars if possible. We can’t recommend this pub, unless you got all time in the world or like to wait and ask for every service possible… (we even heard the clock tower twice when we were waiting, so no way it was less then 1 our). We then had to grab food at a store in town… We expect an apology for...

Wouldn’t recommend!! Stayed there with family that included 1 adult and 4 teenagers. Went to sleep early on the first night we stayed there as we were tired from travelling all day. Until we were woken up from one of the member of staff very loudly banging our door down. We woke up in a shock as it was so loud and when we opened the door this staff member began to accuse 2 of the teenagers of pulling a knife on the boss down the street in a completely different area. We were confused as we were in bed by 10 oclock. He began to say we were the only people staying here even though all day we seen people checking in to their rooms. We then began to notice this member staff was under the influence of drugs over the way he was reacting. We questioned why he didn’t go to the guards as the guard station is right across the road from the baileys , and not only that he had no proof only Snapchat messages that the boss messaged him , which gave no description on who it was. The place is also full of working cameras. The next morning the manager didn’t try to solve this issue or bring it up when we came down to the bar. We had to say it to him. He apologised about what happened and said it was a mistake. We questioned how was it a mistake when we were personally targeted. The situation wasn’t resolved and we only got an apology for being treated this way. It is also very loud in the area so wouldent recommend if your looking for a good night sleep or if you are...
