Update: The Monsoon team reached out to explain/understand why the order went bad for a customer. Shows the extra mile and have asked to reorder directly when needed to make changes that I'd like. Will update this when I do:)
Ordered via just eats. Delivery was on point and happily earlier. Requested a call and not the door bell to be rung. So brilliant.
Man looking at the reviews below, they're way more positive than mine. I hope I'm not too critical. This is only my personal opinion of my first order. The food was ok. Cons: The plain naan was too thick and rubbery. The veg korma was not rich in flavor and had lacked salt. The bombay aloo side was nice. But the potatoes, I'm not entirely surely if they were freshly boiled or taken from frozen as they were too soft like overboiled and not the firmer bite.
The methi paneer had very little paneer. Was a decent masala flavour but i had a preconceived notion it should be less spicy and taste the methi flavour. Working in this industry earlier, ive heard restaurants make their own paneer as it's economical. This could be store bought and hence the fewer pieces.
Maybe biased after just returning from India. It could pass off for the Irish probably who may not tell the difference or in restaurant dining experience could be different? The food lacks distinct flavour for dishes or excitement (rather was yellow and red sauce). Do note, my order was all vegetarian.
The pros: food was hot and steamy. The veg was actual cut veg and a variety and not some pre cut frozen one. The food is packaged well, sustainable and even has a QR code for allergens. No flimsy aluminium foil. Wouldn't get crushed if you're cycling. The naan wasn't precut to pieces and was a good size naan.
I'd like to give this another shot if i happen to be there and someone takes me. Just my personal review. You could find it different...
Read moreI haven't even gotten my food yet, but I feel confident giving Monsoon Stillorgan 5 stars purely because I spoke to a man on the phone and he was incredibly helpful with updating my order, and advised me that if I order through them online or in the app rather than Deliveroo/Uber eats etc I would save money and get perks. Anyways, he was incredibly nice and I think that says a lot about their character. Will update when the food comes.
Update: I got the keema samosa (the little triangles) which came with the best jam of all time - 10/10, but they are only thru ordering from the website not deliveroo, ubereats, etc. Then also the lamb biryani. It was a little too peppery for my taste and I like the lamb to be more tender but overall I really liked it and made another two meals out of the one portion - 8/10. The curry was quite spicy just how I like it 10/10, and I ordered a second curry spicy so I can make my own curry at home with it. They also gave a flatbread with the order that was like chips but fluffier, it went well with the curry - 10/10. Can't wait until I order...
Read moreAfter being a long-time local & satisfied takeaway customer here, we visited many months ago for Dinner for the first time. Service was so unprofessional. Taking our order our waiter, pretending for whatever reason, said to my wife that he knew her from somewhere, but he didn’t know where, stood there asking where she worked/lived, weird & unprofessional. Our drinks didn’t arrive until after we’d eaten the poppadums & only came when the main course arrived. We had both requested a veggie option that was only available from the takeaway menu. We were told no problem, without advising they would be charging extra, unexpectedly more than all other veggie options on the Dinner Menu. We had already paid the bill by card,& then noticed it showed 3 main courses for the 2 of us, including a lamb main course. They quickly gave us the refund in cash. Although the food was excellent, we just cannot go back to...
