Zambrero — Restaurant in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown

The food did taste good and the servers were friendly but the portions were so small that I almost feel like they made a mistake, but unfortunately this isn't the case - there was a supervisor watching the food being assembled.

I got two tacos as advertised for €8.50 and my brother had a burrito which cost approx. €8 - neither of us have a particularly big appetite but we laughed when the portions were dished out. They genuinely looked child sized. An hour and a half later and we were both hungry again. The burrito was literally about half the size of a Pablo Picante or Boojum burrito and the taco shells were nowhere near as big enough to warrant the price (if you asked me how much the two tacos in front of me should have cost, I'd have said no more than €4 being very generous).

Hate to give a new business a poor review but with restaurant prices already out of control, this actually feels a bit opportunistic. Hopefully they'll sort it out because it could be...

I went in to this place at 6.15pm on 19/12 and asked for two rice bowls. The guy who served me was not very clear on what he was asking me. I did not get a sauce for my bowl which made it very bland and I had to literally add tabasco for flavour. This was bought in store so there was no way I could drive back just for this. For a person who is buying for the first time at your store, I’d need to know what I can choose and what i can’t? He did not give me an option if I need sauce? Apart from this customer service, I’m not sure if they usually put only 1 teaspoon of pinto beans because that’s what they did for me. I know this restaurant is relatively new but I don't think I would visit again. The burrito tasted good but I paid extra (which is standard in similar restaurants which is fine) for Guacamole and a tiny bit was put on the burrito, it was as if the staff member was afraid of putting it on my burrito! The same with the sour cream. My husband got nachos which apparently included guacamole but I was charged extra for it and again a very small amount was served. I feel like more toppings should have been available such as vegetables eg. peppers and onions. I'll give the slowness of the service the benefit of the doubt since the staff are learning.
