place seemed empty which was a red flag but we assumed it was just because it was only 5PM, not quite time for dinner rush yet... wish we'd taken the hint. drinks from tap tasted like the pipes hadn't been cleaned in ages. food was overpriced, and did not match the way it was described - "sautéed prawns" actually are breaded & fried, "grilled fish of the day" actually barely cooked and drowned in a strange mayonnaise sauce (why was the fish of the day hake? hake is everywhere, it does not warrant being called THE fish of the day special). also, the decor was so strange and almost unsettling... maybe an attempt to distract from the quality of the food & drinks. we got precooked pasta from supervalue for €3 the next day and it was a million times better than this. save your €80 for a place worth the price.

This was my first Guinness in Ireland. After years of drinking Guinness in NY, I can say that the head is more creamy in the motherland but the pints in NY are not that far off. 🫣 The staff was very friendly and accommodating. No cash needed as they take credit cards. There was a bit of a wait for a table...
