A very popular, friendly bar with a large outdoor seating area with cushions, throws and heaters at the rear of the building. Recently, new owners have taken over and redesigned the interior, making it brighter and more spacious. Caters for all ages and also has live traditional Irish music sessions on selected nights. Highly recommended venue in the harbour town of Cobh, Cork.

This pub is the real deal. Everyone in there seemed to be regulars and they were so friendly to us. No food is served here, just alcohol. Ashley was behind the bar introducing us to the locals. If you want a terrific local pub experience, this is a must visit. We canβt wait to go back there on a future trip.

No food here, but they will let you bring food in if you buy a drink. This is up the hill from the cathedral, and named from the complaining donkeys that used to trudge up the hill long ago. Live music in the evening after nine. Nice back patio. Had a great time here talking with the friendly locals.

If you're in cork, I would recommend you go to Cobh and have a look around. Once you've worked up a thirst and fancy a bit of True Irish folk music, this is a great night out. The people and staff are brilliant π.

Lovely welcoming atmosphere!! As a solo female traveller from England, I wanted to check out a traditional pub with live music. I felt so at ease at The Roaring Donkey and was made to feel welcome. Thank you!!

Lovely atmosphere and great bar service. Normally they have love music on the weekends so keep checking to see what new events come up. Haven't done a pub lunch yet but it's a local shop we will get to it.
