Ever since the changes due to Covid19 I must say the staff are 10 times more attentive and it makes all the difference to the quality of service.... The following is just my opinion, because of the service before Covid19 to be honest I would have went to the Waterside for 1 beer to meet a friend before we head off to the village purely only because I live across the road from the place as I always thought the live music was way too loud for the venue as did many others and ultimately if meeting a friend for a beer you want to be able to hear each other, I also thought the service was very bad as in slow, you could be sitting at the bar and be asking for 5 minutes before you got service...... However, the tables could not have possibly flipped more if they tried, a total transformation has happened and I'd say as a result there take at the till has only gone up as a result, because people only want quality service, the sooner pubs grasp this the better...... NOW I wouldn't even look to go anywhere else because the service is 100% absolutely 2nd to NONE !!!!.... The staff are sooooo attentive, and friendly, you don't feel like you're putting them out to ask for service............. It is a credit to to staff and management the total change to the place and I hope I hope I HOPE they keep these changes up as they are the difference between an average boozer and an absolutely unbelievable place to eat and drink........ Well done guys !!!!!! , I've gone from goin in once or twice a year to the last few weeks going in every Friday for my dinner with my family and drinks you've done some serious job considering the difficult times we are going through and I mean...

Big and spacious gastro -Pub restaurant with plenty of tables but the place also gets very busy so if you are planning to attend a group I would definitely advise you to pre-book. Food is very reasonably priced and portions are good and elegantly served. Plenty of helpful waiting staff and the wait for the food is very short. Toilets are clean and plenty of parking available. We went to a group of 4, we all had sea food chowder. It was very rich, creamy and fresh. Served with bread and butter. For main I went with Guinness Pie beef with veg and chips. It was marvellous. Maybe the beef was a bit too dry but this could be just me. Good selection of drinks and Guinness 0.0% available cold from draft which is a big PLUS for me. I love a cold pint , but also love to drive. Anyway if you haven't visited yet, then...
Read moreBooked a table for family of 2 plus 2 children last minute on a Saturday evening and we were accommodated without question. On arrival, we were greeted with genuine hospitality on which was clearly a very busy evening service. Waitress was with us within minutes, provided drinks and menus which provided a wide variety of options for both adults and children alike. Kids meals arrived and according to both boys, it was a thumbs up. Followed by the arrival of our meals which I can only describe as melt in your mouth amazing. The beef was so tender that you would have no use for a knife at all, the seasonal veg were cooked perfectly and as for the gravy.... if they served it in a pint glass, Id be the first to order it. Highly recommended for family with children or just for a nice evening meal with friends. A wonderful atmosphere and a real mix of generations. We will definitely...
