Myself and my sisters booked afternoon tea for 3 of us and our mam for Motherâs Day. We phoned a couple of times in advance to change the booking from 3 to 4 people, and again to change from afternoon tea for 4, to afternoon tea for 2 and two of us were going to order from the standard menu. One of these phone calls was on the morning of the booking. When we arrived we were handed two standard menus and two afternoon tea menus as expected. We ordered our food and drinks with no issues. 10mins after our drinks had arrived, the manager came over and told us that they had made a mistake and that they had given us the wrong menus as they were only serving from a specific âMotherâs Dayâ lunch menu. This lunch menu was almost identical to their 2 course menu we ordered from, except it was missing a couple of items and it was âŹ29 instead of âŹ23. She also stated that whoever took our original booking shouldnât have offered us afternoon tea as they werenât supposed to be doing it that day but had made an exception because it was booked in advance. We asked if it was possible for myself & my sister to order from the previous menu as we didnât want to order more than starters. We were told very abruptly that the Motherâs Day menu was the only menu on offer today, even though the full menu was still online. In none of the phone calls leading up to this (to multiple separate staff), was this mentioned to us. When we explained this to the manager and said we werenât happy with paying more for a menu that was essentially the same as the one we ordered from, she very rudely said âright!â and walked away from us. The waiter then returned and asked what we would like to order from the new menu, as if we hadnât just had that conversation with the manager. To be fair the the waiter and the rest of the staff, they were all lovely and we felt terrible for him having to keep coming back on the managers behalf to relay the information as she wouldnât come back to our table. The waiter then eventually told us we could order the items on the Motherâs Day lunch menu at the singular item prices so we changed our orders and waited for the food to come out. Then the afternoon tea arrived out and there was only 1 tiny 3 tiered plate between my mam and my sister. For âŹ37pp (with no drink/tea or coffee included!) we had expected atleast one of these tiered plates for each of them. Not only that, but the hot food on it was cold and there were things missing from it that were promised on the menu when we booked. We were so disappointed with it that we ended up having to send it back as the small amount of food we received for almost âŹ80 was not nearly enough for 2 people. After again returning with messages from the manager saying that we couldnât cancel on afternoon tea with less than 24hrs notice, we told the waiter that we were not cancelling but sending it back as it was not what was offered when we ordered it. We told the waiter that my mam & sister would just order off the standard lunch menu instead. He took the afternoon tea plate away and just never came back with another menu for my mam & sister. So two of us ate our starter portions while they sat there with nothing in-front of them. The whole time the manager just kept walking past the table and blatantly ignoring us. There wasnât a single apology given to us for the disappointing mix ups.We then decided to leave and just pay for what we had. The afternoon tea was still on the bill and I explained to the girl that we had sent that back and werenât paying for it. That was no issue thankfully, the girl was very pleasant, we paid the bill and left. The whole experience completely ruined our Motherâs Day. See attached the photo of afternoon that was suppose to cost âŹ74 ..ââbrioche chicken rollââ each was a tiny white bread...
Read moreJust back from dinner with friends. First of all strange to charge for dishes without carbs/veg/salad full dish prices expecting you to buy a side. Half of the dishes come without a side which is good for their revenue but not for customer. Second - very loud, no atmosphere, hard to make a conversation or hear each other at the table. Third - a few comments on food. My wife was happy with venison burger. Me and a friend had pork belly - far too salty on the outside, inside was fine. We had to eat it with little slaw and sauce it came with as there was far too much salt on it. There were no carbs on it, so you buy a side for âŹ5 if you want it. We decided not to. My daughter's burger had dried, hard edges, just as if the burger was precooked and in hot holding for a while or reheated in a microvawe later. It was dry, no juice you expect from a fresh burger. She didn't want it. The other friend's ribs were burnt on top. We don't mind smoky flavour or caramelised juices but that was a bit too far. We ate there before and our experience was much better. A bit too work on, especially in...
Read moreWe are locals and we were excited to try Bryan's town Social but what a disappointing first visit. Be aware that if you want to order from the Tapas menu, your whole table has to order from the Tapas menu... Same goes for the ala carte menu. This is one of the Rules written on the menu and the reason of these rules is that they don't want to upset the chef...!?!? What restaurant forces rules on its customers by fear of upsetting its chef đđ Anyway, the manager explained that he doesn't make the rules and apologies for the inconvenience. Fair enough but he could have separated our group by 2 tables (tapas group / Ă la carte group) to accommodate us but no. We thought it was mad but we laught it off and hoped the food was going to make up for it, but no! Unfortunately the food wasn't great. Burger meat tastes like it was frozen meat. The steak was a very bad piece of meat and for 32⏠its shocking. Bottom line, Bryanstown Social is overpriced mediocre food with a weird...
