I have NEVER recieved such horrendous customer service as I have here this evening at Apache Arklow. I called regarding an incorrect delivery and was informed that I was the one that was incorrect and that I should have known that ordering a garlic drizzle was in fact ordering garlic sauce to be poured all over my pizza. I had a guest that could not eat eggs and therefore would have never ordered such a drizzle if I had known it was made with eggs. When I called I spoke to a female first and she explained that everyone who orders the drizzle KNOWS that it is in fact a garlic sauce. When i questioned what her pesto, bbq and fresh chilli drizzle were made with she said "olive oil of course." so when I questioned the garlic drizzle not deriving from olive oil she could not understand and insisted that it was my error and not Apaches. But alas the pain did not end there, when I asked to speak to her manager I was introduced to the most sarcastic young man called "James" he refused to give me his surname as he was "too busy". I did also asked for his employee number and I got a "my employee number is number 1" reply. I asked for another pizza be made for me but was told It was my fault and he would not be speaking to me anymore. Read moreAfter getting home from work I ordered myself a pizza between 20:15 and 20:20, and the app had informed me that it would arrive around 20:55. Given the traffic issues in town I am forgiving for it being a little late, but when it was 21:05 I called to check on the status of my order and was told it was "on the way" and would be with me in ten minutes. 20 minutes later at 21:25, it had still not arrived and I called again and was once again told it was "on the way" and that the driver was just held up. Another 20 minutes pass and I call again at 21:45, this time getting another employee who tells me that my order only left the restaurant 15 minutes ago and was "on the way" again. Once it had finally arrived at 21:50, nearly an hour after it was due to arrive as said by the app, I was told by the driver that he had the wrong address. I am appalled by this service, as not only did my food arrive freezing cold, but I was repeatedly lied to that my food was on the way by the first employee I spoke to. I reported my disappointment to the restaurant and was offered one part of my order to be delivered again but at an appropriate temperature, which I declined as I did not want to wait another hour for a cold side dish. Read moreApp malfunction placed a cash order when I clicked "view basket", before I was finished adding items. No ability to cancel order on app. Rang Arklow Apache restaurant and cancelled by voice, restaurant was unwilling to cancel until I said I simply didn't have the required cash on me to cover that amount (original plan to pay by card). In fact they just hung up on me when I said that and I only learned in the app that the order was cancelled as it had moved from active to previous orders. If it had been a card payment they simply wouldn't have cancelled.
They rang me back 5 minutes later and threatened me that if I didn't re-place the order they would block/bar my address from all future deliveries. Massive overreaction by them to something which was their own app's fault, not the customer. Putting aside the IT issue, they consider it appropriate to blacklist my address simply because I had the audacity to cancel a single order immediately after it was placed!
Extremely poor customer service and utterly arrogant/bullying attitude by the restaurant. Very negative experience so I cancelled outright and took my business elsewhere. Makes me think twice about ordering from other restaurants in the same chain, even if they have different operators under franchise. If I could give less than 1...
