The Old House — Restaurant in The Municipal District of Arklow

We've been here a few times when we visit Arklow. Food is always lovely. Waiting staff are very good and attentive but bar staff are a different story. When we visited last time we were left waiting at the bar for at least 10 mins with the bar staff walking by with no acknowledgement at all, not even to just say we'll be with you in a minute. It wasn't overly busy. We left. When we went back this time it was exactly the same story, we were about to leave when we were finally served, we had one drink and left and we definitely won't be back. Fantastic food I eat here all the time. Excellent service there chicken wings are wow. Only minus one star as the Fish box meal don't have enough sea food or fish on the plate at all and worst of all the calamari that I love so much usually was infact not real calamari with no calamari in it. I'll put 5 stars ones this changes as it would be my go to meal if the portion of fish was better and less salad in the middle of the plate to bulk out the look of more food than there actually is. The service was very nice and helpful, my wife had noodles and she said they were very good but I ordered a ribeye steak and I told the waitress several times that I wanted the steak rare and they brought the steak overcooked, totally gray and no red inside, I have to say that the meat was good quality but too thin and the cook spoiled it, also the pepper sauce had no flavour at all. This is the reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5, although my wife's food and the dessert were pretty good and...
