The Old Ship Inn — Restaurant in The Municipal District of Arklow

I would like to extend my deepest thanks to the entire team at The Old Ship for hosting us so wonderfully in your restaurant. My son had an absolutely delightful time, and the evening was truly special.

The food was exquisite—everyone who attended was full of praise and gratitude for such a delicious dinner. The warm atmosphere, the friendly smiles, and the exceptional service all contributed to making the experience unforgettable.

A special thank you for the beautiful room decorations, which created the perfect setting. I walked in, took my seat, and was able to fully enjoy my son’s communion without a single worry. You took care of everything with such professionalism and kindness.

We drove to Arklow to have dinner based on things I had read. Big mistake. We walked in and initially the smell in the bar was musty and stale. Ignoring that, we were brought to our table. The place defo needs updating but that wouldn't have put me off. We had wings to share as a starter and in fairness, they were tasty. For mains I had beef and my partner had lamb. The beef was like the sole of a shoe. I genuinely could not cut it with the knife. I noticed the people beside me were also struggling! It was tasteless and very much overcooked. The main reason for the 1 star was the HAIR in our shared portion of vegetables. The veg themselves were only partially cooked, they were hard to cut through. The worst thing is I'd eaten some before we saw the hair. Even as I write this I feel sick!...

Good homemade food done exceptionally well - just back from a lovely lunch at the Olde Ship - and it was delicious. I opted for a toasted ham and cheese sandwich - thick gorgeous slices of homemade ham.....lovely fresh salads. Really delicious and excellent value for money. They had lovely vegan options for my vegan friend who opted for the falafel burger - sublime. Again - fresh and homemade! Great staff - friendly, efficient and helpful. The rest of the menu looks enticing - and I love the prices! Such good value for money. Good old fashioned honest and fresh food done...
