I recently had the pleasure of dining at Cafe India, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the friendly staff, setting the tone for a delightful evening.
They had an impressive menu filled with delectable vegetarian options. Each dish we tried was a burst of flavour, showcasing the rich and diverse palette of Indian cuisine. The freshness of the ingredients and the perfect blend of spices were evident in every bite.
A special mention to the owner, whose passion for his restaurant shines through. His personal touch and genuine hospitality made us feel incredibly welcome. He took the time to check on our table, sharing insights about the dishes and the inspiration behind them, adding a personal touch that elevated our dining experience.
The ambience of Cafe India is another highlight. The decor is elegant yet cozy, creating a relaxing atmosphere that complements the dining experience beautifully. It's clear that a lot of thought has been put into creating an environment where guests can enjoy their meals in comfort.

Whole Leg of Lamb cooked to perfection (Chef told us this was marinated for 24 hours and cooked slowly for 4 hours...it was falling off the bone) . Lahori steamed whole Chicken (marinated whole baby chickens steam roasted....soooo good) , Tarka Daal Lentils, Potato and Aubergine curry. Pilau Rice, Naan brads and roti's. Salad and raita also. some of these were off menu dishes but because we had arranged the menu at the time of booking the Chef made it especially for us. . The service was outstanding....the owner came and checked if we were enjoying our meal a few times. We were so stuffed after the main course that we couldn't even think of ordering dessert but the owner brought some slices of cheesecakes for us to share with tea and coffees. It was our first time eating at this restaurant but hopefully not the last. I cannot recommend it enough......you...
Read moreWe booked a table for Saturday night and when we arrived the restaurant was totally full with some very large groups. The gentleman we spoke said a previous large party had arrived very late and this was why there was no table. We were happy to head down to the Harbour bar for a drink and come back later. The restaurant offered to pay for our round of drinks but we wouldn't dream of it. When we did arrive back we were given a nice window table and the food was delicious. Service was slightly slow but we were in no hurry. I'd recommend the lamb kashmiri. Most importantly I was delighted to see the menu items all numbered for allergens which makes it much easier for a coeliac like me or anyone with allergies to eat there....
