On arrival we were warmly welcomed and shown to our table. The Sunday lunch menu was presented as water for the table was provided.
The attention to make the 4 Yr old with us feel special was above and beyond what should be expected.
The service was attentive without being intrusive.
The quality of the food was excellent.
Starters of Crabbrulee, Garlic Mushrooms and one of the finest, flavoursome mushroom soup that I have enjoyed in a very long time.
Mains of pasta for the 4 yr old, lamb for 2 guests and pulled pork for 1 were beautifully presented and ate as well as they looked. All were served with red cabbage, carrot and mash. Extra carrots were also ordered.
Desserts were plentiful (warm chocolate mudcake and pavlova being our choice) all washed down with well made cappuccino.
For a Michelin 🌟 restaurant anywhere else you would expect to spend €180 ➕️
All came in at under €100.

This place has not just one such dish but an entire separate multi option vegetarian menu inclusive of starters and desserts, in addition to the general à la carte menu, which suggests to me the food is likely to be exceptional. And so it was. We were a party of twelve every one of whose choice was found to be delicious. Not cheap, though not overly expensive either, especially for a special occasion. I'd prefer if they served smaller amounts of veg accompaniments because an awful lot of (really delicious) carrot and celeriac side dishes were returned uneaten and presumably wasted which is always regrettable to say the least and ideally should be avoided completely, eg by serving smaller portions with a clear option of ordering as much extra as you need. Read moreI wish we had photos but the food was so good we forgot! We ate there a few weeks ago but I remember everything so well.
For starters I got the oxtail croquette and my husband got the seafood platter. The croquette was soooo good! It was melt in the mouth with a punch of rich flavours! The seafood was a great mix and was cooked to perfection!
For mains, I got the paprika chicken which was just so tender and full of flavour. We ordered chips on the side which were so good but actually got mash with the meal which was deliciously smooth. My husband got the monkfish. He is someone who orders steak or lamb almost everywhere so to see his absolute delight eating the fish was amazing! It was served with a milk curry which was perfect (of course I had a taste!)
