The Townhouse Tullamore — Restaurant in The Municipal District of Tullamore

Only giving 1 star as it wont allow me to give zero.|Myself and my family were passing through Tullamore last Friday week and decided to stop at the Townhouse for some food. We were seated by a friendly waitress who took our drinks order and another friendly waitress took our food order.|| When Our food arrived, it was within 5 - 7 mins of ordering . The chips on all our plates looked overdone along with the chicken and fish also ordered by my husband and children. I ordered a burger and chips . The burger was very dry and overdone. I tried to add some Ketchup to the burger.. even though it stated it came with Ballymaloe relish but i didnt taste or see any relish!! it was still inedible as it was so dry . The cheese and bacon inside the burger was also overdone and dry and I had to take it out completely. The side salad was also awful.||Nobody had come to check if our meal was ok . When a different waitress came to take our plates . She never asked if our meal was ok . She could clearly see mine had hardly been touched. I told her that it was very dry and I couldn't eat it . No apology was given from the waitress . She just said . " Ill say it to the kitchen ". She returned 10-15 minutes later and said . " i said it to the chef and he said by law he cannot serve a medium /rare burger " to which i replied . "I didn't ask for it cooked like that." she then went on to say it was "cooked fresh" and "we are well used to serving burgers" . Which I find hard to believe as it came out way too quick . I said it doesn't matter as it was still too dry and I coulndt eat it.. NO apology was given and NO offer of an alternative meal and certainly no offer to remove my Meal from the bill. She then just walked away from the table. The Burger was 16eur !! |Ive never come across such rudeness by a restaurant staff||I sent a message of complaint to their FB page. No response . Also sent an email of complaint 1 week ago...

Myself and my husband went to the townhouse for something to eat on Sat the 18 of Feb 2023 as we went in no one came to us to get us a table we had to get it our self and to get the menus as well the menus look dirty and the plastic that was over the menus was torn and they need to be replace My husband order the Lasagne and I order the Chicken volau;vent when my husband got his lasagne it was very COLD inside of it and and when we call of the staff over she send it back when he got a other one it was ok my lunch was ok but could have been better no one after that came over to see if we were ok or would we like anything else .when we were finish no one came over to see if we like desserts or coffee or tea.. When we ask for the bill one of the staff standing at the bar with her elbow on the counter she was looking into space than one of the staff that was behind the bar nodded at her to go in behind the bar the staff was no way friendly there need to be a manage there when its busy and for the money we paid for our lunch was not right and no ask my husband if all was ok when he got his lunch. when you go out for lunch it's nice to be greeted with friendly staff and the staff to bring you to your table not the other way around . We will not be going back to the Town House...

Stopped in here for good pub grub as have heard good things! However, what we got wasn’t up to the great standards people rave about. I ordered the lasagna, my partner got the stir fry and we got chicken wings to share. Chicken wings, couldn’t be faulted lovely and crispy. Lasagna was horribly dry, as if they attempted to heat it up and melt the cheese at the same time, with no clingfilm over it..so the mince dried out completely and clumped together. If I hadn’t of waited 15 mins already I would have sent it back. As for the stir fry, my dad’s old leather boots are of similar texture-super dry, to the point that if not washed down with a fizzy drink would definitely pose a choking hazard. My partner had enough and decided to wash it down with a cold pint of Heineken 0.0, Shur what could go wrong right? No. Glass clearly hadn’t been washed out properly or they had lemon fresh tablets in the dishwasher, Heineken with a hint of citrus! Not so yum! Over all, didn’t cause a fuss but wish I had of because the food was just not up to par at all. Lovely staff, could be more attentive but hey! Who wants staff checking in on...
