Visited here while on a trip to Kerry as Lana is my daughters favourite restaurant in our city, as she loves the Massaman curry. I have to say the level of service here compared to two other Lanas we have been to is so different. The other places treat you like they don't care you are dining or not, they're polite but that's it and it feels like a canteen. This branch in Tralee was exceptional. The professionalism, the very attentive service. The waiter was very nice accommodating my daughters request as another Lana has refused the request before. He brought our drinks plus a jug of water when we forgot to order but these little things make a big difference. The servers checked on our meal and when we finished, they came to our table and asked us if we would like the complimentary ice cream and they brought it to our table. The other Lana we've been to, you have to ask for it when paying otherwise you won't get it. The food was delicious, we finished every last bit of it. I ordered the crispy, chilli satay. The restaurant was busy and it was a very nice atmosphere. Overall this is my...
Read moreSpur of the moment decision to try Lana for Saturday night takeaway treat (sick of cooking), excellent decision! Went for the Special noodles because I didn't have my glasses and couldn't quite figure out the print on the menu, so it was a case of point and hope for the best. Service (all takeaway for Covid) was quick, efficient & pleasant, screens up and plenty of sanitiser, lots of space in the waiting area so no worries about SD, I was told a wait of maybe 20 minutes, seemed more like 10. Excellent containers, the food was still piping hot when I got home (and bio-degradable too, all good) Lots of flavour & texture, fresh ginger lemongrass chilli, chicken & prawn, happy lick-the-plate food, excellent value (€10.95 I think), pleasantly full afterwards and eager to work my way through the menu. Obviously a popular choice, they were busy with phone, internet & drop- in custom, but consistently polite & can-do, highly recommended. It's great...
Read moreRecently dined at this Asian street food restaurant. We ordered the deep-fried calamari which was good in flavour, but unfortunately not served hot and the texture was quite tough to chew. The Lana special noodles tasted nice, though I wish there was an option to choose thin noodles — the thick ones didn’t really complement the dish. The chicken gyoza also wasn’t as hot as expected.
On the positive side, the hospitality was great — the staff were attentive, friendly, and checked in on us regularly. The place itself has a very welcoming and quiet atmosphere. Overall, it was an average experience; with a bit more traditional Asian spice and warmth in the food, it could easily be a...
