Sunshine Palace Restaurant — Restaurant in Tralee Municipal District

Although I am definitely not a big fan of Chinese Food - My husband is so every time we go back for our annual visit to Tralee for a visit with family, we make certain to have at least one dinner at the Sunshine Palace. First of all, we stay at the Grand Hotel right around the corner on Denny Street and also always attend Sunday Masses at that beautiful Church right next door, so it is totally convenient. This year when we did our 5 night stay at the The Grand we ate two different nights at Sunshine Palace. The best thing this year, in addition to the wonderful food and service was the new Gal who has just recently come over from China, that we just LOVED. "Fiona" (Chinese Name - Minghui Wang). She is not only adorable in appearance but just one of the most loving girls we have ever met. We live in Costa Rica now for the past six years and we told her, sincerely, whenever she is able, we would just love to have her as a House

Guest of ours down here in Santa Ana, Costa Rica, so we could get to know each other even better. This restaurant has also obviously been re-decorated since our last visit to Tralee in 2013 and although it was always very attractive, now it is just gorgeous on the interior. Any complaints? Yes, just too much food on the plate. I am now trying to starve myself here at home attempting to get rid of all those pounds I just gained - eating in places like...

Awful just awful,

Usually the food was good when we ordered, although today it has been the worst experience i ever had.

We had to wait over an hour for the food and then when it arrived we were accused of not paying for it. Had to pull up my bank statement just to prove , so un organized but beside that the food it self was awful it was cold and tasted blunt, we ordered spice boxes but it seemed like we got large fries and 2 pieces of chicken each !

When we rang and asked to speak to the manager the receptionist wouldn't allow us to speak to them she listened to our complaint then made some excuses that it's busy and sometimes you have to wait over an hour so the food will get cold. Poor service observed recently in the take-out recently (using a pseudonym). COVID-19 restrictions were non-existent or poorly enforced. One person allowed in the lobby, save for when I was told to literally wait in the corner for my order while people were allowed to basically walk over me. Was verbally abused by a customer who blamed me for his delay (when I had ordered ahead of him, and was being told that my order was ready in 2 minutes every 2 minutes), to which the staff did nothing to stop or acknowledge. Ended up waiting nearly 20 minutes after the order was said to be ready for, and was quite distressed with all the abuse. Could have done so much better,...
