I think this place has been taken over by 14-16 year olds tonight doing a Duke of Edinburgh awards project?! I like entering places where people can have fun in work and it be lighthearted as that suggests a good working environment. But it just appeared to be kids saying “lad” to each other in unfunny Douglas/Liverpool accent over and over and over again in front of customers. It was fairly quiet when I went in and I was 3rd/4th in the queue - the boy who was serving was asking for others to help him (whilst making those repeated “lad” comments)get peas and initially being turned down by the other kids who loudly and flippantly said “no” in front of the customer ordering it.And then the boy that did eventually help him out, just filled the carton and chucked it across from the back onto the till area. He did that in front of the customer who ordered it who did not look impressed and who I think he said something on the way out. Don’t get me wrong, it’s just peas in a tub - but the lack of respect to chuck someone’s food around is not what I’d normally expect in here. If they’re taught that it’s “only peas” then maybe we’re “only customers” and don’t deserve respect either - where does the disrespect start/finish!? I assume the adults called in sick today but I’ll stick to their other place at the Terrace until any such time as the kids are running that place as well. Shame as food was up to normal standard. At least two unimpressed independent...

Orders are placed at the till and paid for at time of ordering. You need to collect your own cutlery, napkins and tartare sauce and other condiments. Salt, pepper and vinegar are on each table. Our nice and strong teas came out quickly followed by our food after only a few minutes of waiting. Most impressive speed and everything was extremely hot! Some chips crispy, others chewy. Portion size is very ample and satisfying for my large appetite. Crispy batter especially either end of the cod. It wasn’t the best fish and chips I’ve eaten, but certainly no where near the...
