The Terminus Tavern — Restaurant in Douglas

We came here last week while on my 50th nostalgia trip back to the island. It was lovely. Starting with walking in and singer with keyboard singing gently in the background to probably the best roast beef sandwich I’ve ever had. I think it was manager/owner kept checking in with us and making us welcome. The only issue we had but it’s no biggy as these things happen is me and my son had eaten by the time my partner got her food. But she stated how good it was and worth it. We should in hindsight of had the Sunday dinner but we didn’t realise how good it was going to be. We will be back next time we are over. The food here is consistently excellent. Consistently- I use the pub a lot for friends socialising, business meetings, and dining with relatives. Not only is the quality of the food and cooking good, the presentation is good enough to make you smile, I do, time and again! But the crowning glory are the staff. The experienced staff are quietly and efficiently concentrating on the customer in front of them (no matter how busy the pub is) whilst constantly being aware of the next job, be it a customer to serve or a table to clear. Went here our first night in the Isle Of Man it is near the end of the promenade with plenty of parking outside. Starters are around £7 the southern fried chicken strips were nice with sweet chilli dip but quite salty. They have pie of the day which was steak and ale the meat was nice and soft, the hand cut chips a bit to much on the chunky side though. The arrabbiata I had with chicken which was £12.95 and very nice I would have liked some pepper on it but the pepper was empty and the waitress was no where to be seen.
