מסעדת פאגו Fish&Grill — Restaurant in Eilat

Food was great, sea view was superb, however service was not on par. Even though the waiter was very kind and thoughtful and promptly replaced plate that had a hair in it, and another one that was too hot for my daughter. Also she rushed to bring forgotten rice fingers, forgotten napkins and forgotten spoons, but I doubt that at this price level all this should have happened at all. They have also not registered our reservation (from a day before), which could lead to additional problems, but luckily, they still had vacancy when we arrived. And the thing that irritated me the most, was their refusal to honor desert coupon, which they required to see in a hard copy... Of course we didn't have it (after all, its 2019 outside), and our bill of above 1000 NIS didn't convince them to waive a 40 NIS desert bill....

It's one of the "must go" places on every Eilat guide. Wikitravel even puts it that way: if you have the budget just for one fancy meal in Eilat, Pago Pago is the place. We agree! The restaurant caters to tourists mostly (at least when we were there) and the food is along that line. You will not find something out of this world, but if you are looking for a nice meal in a place that caters mostly to tourists, Pago Pago is an excellent choice. The prices are a bit on the high side, but not too much. Especially, if you decide to go for lunch (12:30 to 17:00). They have a business menu that includes a starter and a main dish (both from the card). For a Thai salad (probably more like a Mediterranean mixed salad, spiced with chilly), a Salmon on tomato sauce with baked potatoes (yummi!) and a large beer you...

Terrible service. We asked if we could raise the blinds to look out over the water and we got a "no". We were the only people on the restaurant. I literally laughed out loud when she told me no because I though she was joking. She wasn't. I ordered the fillet cooked medium and it was rare. My wife ordered the lobster which was over 100 US dollars and it was empty of any meat. Not joking. I wish I was but I'm not. My wife and I were shocked.
