Kalamata — Restaurant in Tel-Aviv

Visited on the weekend for the 3rd time. Two previous visits were business lunch/dinner where I got to try almost everything on the menu and found the food to be delicious. I liked the food so decided to take my wife and another couple there for a dinner. Service was rude right from the start! I will not go back there due to the bad service and experience.

We wanted to sit outside in the terrace but it was full. We were offered to sit inside, order our drinks and be moved when a table outside becomes available. We ordered our cocktails and starters and a few minutes later they moved us outside. A waiter came and repeated our order (which was missing one starter) we verified the order. Nearly 25 minutes after ordering, still no sign of our drinks. I got the attention of a waitress and told her politely, for the first time, that we didn't get our drinks yet. She rudely answered with a notable face and attitude :" I KNOW!!! ". I was shocked to get an answer this way. Especially since it was the first time any of us enquired about the drinks.

My friends also noticed the rude answer and considering we waited over 30 min for the drinks, they wanted to leave. I called the manager and explained to him saying we are returning customers, we didn't get our drinks and that the waitress was rude.

He said " well, I don't really know how many times you've been here but I'll do my best to improve your service tonight".

We then got our starters and still no drinks. The drinks arrived after 40 minutes, and 10 minutes after the starters. They have missed one of starters despite us verifying the order with 2 waitresses.

Since we've complained about not getting our drinks, we suffered a notable attitude from the staff who made us feel unwelcome.

I travel weekly on business and eat out every night if the week, every week, in several countries. It had been a long while since I encountered such rude and unprofessional service.

The good food does not justify rude and unprofessional service.

Will not come back and will take my business...

We ordered the Red Mallet. They brought us a plate with some fish and a lot of Shrimps, claiming they don't have enough fish to call it a dish. They didn't ask us if it's okay or notify that they don't have the Red Mallet. My partner keeps Kosher and for me it was a deal breaker. Unfortunately she didn't wanna leave beacuse she felt uncomfortable.

Eventually we got half a dish and payed almost full price. The nerve of the waiter and the place to shove us their leftovers is beyond any explanation. The waiters contempted us later because we aren't tourists and the service was just a really bad experience. The rest of the food was good.

Wouldn't recommend Israelis or people that care about Kosher food or respect to eat there.

הזמנו דג- מקבת אדום, הביאו לנו צלחת עם קצת דג והרבה שרימפס בטענה שאין להם מספיק מהדג. בלי לשאול לפני או להודיע אם זה בסדר כדי שנוכל לשנות מנה. בת זוג שלי שומרת כשרות, ורציתי לקום וללכת ולה לצערי לא היה נעים.

קיבלנו בסוף רבע-חצי מנה של הדג ושילמנו מחיר כמעט מלא, אבל החוצפה של המלצר והמקום של לדחוף לנו אוכל שיש להם ספייר ממנו כדי לא לזרוק את הדג בסוף היום זה מתחת לכל ביקורת. המלצרים זילזלו בנו כי אנחנו לא תיירים ומבחינת השירות החוויה הייתה מאוד לא נעימה. האוכל עצמו כן טעים.

לא הייתי ממליץ לישראלים, שומרי כשרות או אנשים שרוצים...

I would call this place a local gem. I remember exactly that there was one little thing that my wife and I noticed for criticism, but I don’t remember it now, and against the background of the rest, this is literally nothing. A very cozy and beautiful place in a classic wooden interior and with a good view of the city from the window. Very pleasant and knowledgeable staff. We ordered Shrimps with squids, Ravioli in cheese sauce, white Riesling wine, Sliced octopus and European bass. And everything was very, VERY! tasty. I visited a lot of places and they provided a really great food, and this place is the same. I also looked around what was on the tables of others and I can say that everything I saw looked very appetizing, and some were interesting too(for example, a duck on a special heated rack). So I can recommend this place to anyone. Prices... what you see on my photos, for 4 persons, was...
